What I would add for the water is a sort of border separating it from the grass. The trees to the left I notice hang over the grass tiles also which appear as square tiles.
I could tell it was a bridge but someone could mistake/ due to the colors and perhaps the lack of the picture being static that the bottom of the river (stone) is actually wall or just ground.

and I bare bones menu for another game I'll be working on in the summer. Uses the DQ style of battle screen. I'll probably add a Talk feature along with Fight and Flee.

Got a working Expel(Banish) spell.
I also have a shield that also casts said spell.
And fixed a bug in a Equip command script I'm using. Progress!
This will help player's who wish to go on a solo run. You can warp swarms of enemies at the cost of not getting exp or gold.

The all white background is because I'm doing this in the games test room.
The animation looks much better as a gif than a still.

You could make a batmanish type hero. Give it a twist and it's yours.
It's been done before what's more is you can sell that character. Superheroes/villians are heavily stuck this category.
Look at Deadpool and then look at Slade/Deathstroke.
The former came after the latter and it's way more popular from what I've seen.
All that matters is if people like the character you made.

[RMVX ACE] Group Enemies and Attack all animations?

I have two questions.
I've been looking around, but haven't had much luck.
1st Question:
Are there any scripts or is there a way to group enemies in a troop by type?
Say for instance you have 3 slimes and 2 bats, when you select the attack button it shows them as 2 distinct groups.

2 bat
Attacking the group randomly has the player hit one of the monsters in the group while using a hit all move or skill will hit everything in that group.
(Like in Dragon Quest)
2nd Question:
When you use a skill that targets all the enemies it does them all like back to back instead of letting each animation finish (only for non screen animations). I'm wondering if there's a easy fix for this and where to look in the standard games data to do so. (I assume it'd be like adding a pause in between each animation)

Ooh! I actually started my Dragon Quest days with the GBC ports, so admiring your choice of assets. :o
So did I, which is why I'm doing this. It was saddening that none of the older handhelds(GBC/GBA) got their own DragonQuest games.(Non monsters series of course)

I'm currently using RPG maker VX Ace to produce a Dragonquest fan game in the GBC style. It'll feature custom sprites/monsters/weapons/cutscenes/spells while utilizing GBC DQ resources also.(music,sprites)
This will be a free game! I've got videos of gameplay and various elements found in the game. I own nothing that is Square Enix, Toriyama's, or Birdstudios. I'm going to release a short 4-5 hour demo on this site by the end of the month!
I'm also configuring RPGM VXA to run more akin to DQ/EarthboundZero so expect an opensource game where you can make your own fan rpg games that play more like DQ!
I also plan on making my own game using said opensource using all custom everything! That'll start this summer.
