Q&A: Revisions, when will they end?!

Well I've never played the older versions of SU but at least the storyline so far doesn't start out as battling evil or saving the world. Though I'm glad you're tweaking the story as currently, it's a bit silly how the bandit allowed himself to be attacked or how Clyde conveniently ran into a bunch of villagers after fulfilling the Wolf puzzle.

So uhm, "timely manner" huh? Well here's to wishing you lots of luck 'cos I want to introduce this game to some people when it's complete. =)

In your next game, I hope you'll configure it such that arrows are displayed at spots when the player tries to jump.

Love and War: Act I

I did run under different compatibility modes but seriously, hmmm... also tried running Act 2 in Vmware XP but no music! =/

Oh okay, finally figured how to fix it partly: turned off Clear Type. However, that doesn't fix the issue totally!

Btw, LOL @ the werewolf.

Ryan, you're a REAL jerk! You dumped Lavie and are busy off flirting with someone who looks like Lavie.

I guess he's such an optimist and so easy-going, he doesn't care too much about the consequences. =/ Some of Armin's influence maybe?

And he really has his head in the clouds.

Also, that scene of him telling that guy to be a man was just so funny and sad. And hypocritical too or just plain flawed on Ryan's part. :P

Btw Admiral, a question: do the adults know about the entire scope of the problems between Ryan and Juno?

Hi, how many chapters have been planned for this game?
Exactly 9!

If you count the prologue, 10.

7 of the 9 are done. The first couple need some tweaking to match the consistency of the plot in later chapters.

Okay, I hope you'll get some help then so you can finish the project with more speed! =)

Love and War: Act I

Ahhh cos Act 2 demo doesn't run on Win7: there's a font problem even if I installed the recommended font fix. And for another playthrough of LAW, I really want to be able to adjust the voice volume.

Thanks for the comments Tofu.

As you've seen, we still have quite a ways to go, so many of the concerns you've raised will indeed be addressed in due time.

For instance, the current introduction is placeholder. In the final game the intro will be playable. Likewise the battle interface will be completely visual and will feature more graphical effects and animations. Reducing the lag will happen during our Beta optimization pass, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to play the demo and do continue to post feedback if you keep playing. We're taking it all in right now and the more comments and critiques we can get at this point, the more we can improve the final game :)

Cheers,

-Sage

Okay, thanks! =) Glad to know far more improvements are on the way.

1) i hope to see a graphical interface which will represent the graphs and many other statistics and how they all affect one another.

2) given the complexity of the game, I hope to see a manual(in-game or otherwise) I can read and refer to. ^^;;

3) I think the in-game battles are a bit complicated. I noticed there are many different types of battles but the commands serve similar functions.

Defend, attack, summon or buff or special attack/defend. Why not just simplify or merge some of them as in giving them similar titles and add in other features so there're more tactics?

4) Okay, I got this error. If I press F12 to return to title menu and then attempt to load a Save file, I get this error:

5) What does the Nurilite energy drink do? I can't remember what it does and there isn't an item description. And even when I used it before a battle, nothing seems to happen or I just didn't notice it.

6) Lottery ticket only works once. After that, nothing happens if you buy another ticket and scratch it. Is it supposed to be of one use only?

7) Will the game be reflecting what types of customers you get by giving out flyers and doing other actions or are all customers treated as the same? I hope there'll be some difference in the quality of customers and maybe, the richer types could be more rare. Or maybe not! =)

8) I assume you simplified the sales aspect of the game and just integrated it into a Profit Meter, eh?

9) I greatly enjoyed that con game haha. A shame I couldn't blackmail hire them into aiding me in my operation to deal with Big Brand. It takes some crooks to sniff out the others. I'm sure with that stiff-armed Security Chief, she would straighten them out in no time. :D

Btw, I should let you know that I didn't really follow much of a strategy. I just randomly tried different things, tried talking to people and oops... looks like i played quite badly. :P My capital is kinda low(4k), I got to the discounts about key staffs far too late and on and on... lmao. I have not got to the investors yet. LOL.

Sure, no problem! =) Btw, if I'm right, the same commands can be used for most or all other RPGmaker games.

Try pressing F4 or F5 or Alt + Enter?

Love and War: Act I

Tire iron?! Geez... Your imagination sure is violent. =p

Haha yep... The screens all looked really different and it didn't leave me wandering in circles.

Speaking of act 2 demo, *speaks in stereotypically deep breathy voice* tonight I will be preparing the sacrifice to commence the ceremony of installing the evil incarnate WinXP!

Profit Motive: A Business Adventure RPG

I'd play more but dear gods, your game is kinda buggy at times and the cpu usage is quite high. I think that's the cause of the sluggishness, right?

The opening scene: hmm, the parts which led to his firing were a bit too straight-forward to me. Also, the humour didn't strike me as funny but perhaps it's me though.

Well, I don't mind walking around town as opposed to walking on the map but that's only IF there're different events going on.

Also, I think you could do with an editor so the characters will sound more in keeping with their characters. As it is, the dialogue is decent though.

The battle screen: looks okay to me but could do with some sprucing up with graphics + colours so it'd look more professional and less blocky or RPGish.

And more save slots, please! I kinda dislike having to manually back them up all the time, on my computer.
