The Rare/Obscure RM Games Request Topic
I'll have to wait till I have access to my external HDD, but I'm pretty sure I have some of the games requested. At least I'm hoping I do, since Linux decided to be nice a couple of months ago and totally wipe both my Windows partition on my laptop and my external HDD. Pretty sure I had all the games backed up on my PC at home, though, so...
2009 RMN Christmas List

- EasyCap USB capture card (because I use a Mac and having to boot into Windows just to stream is annoying)
- "White Album" from the Beatles
- $30 GameStop gift card
The family's also getting a Wii (which I ended up buying for us), so I guess that's on the list as well, though it's less a Christmas present and more of a family gift that we all know we're getting.

As production continues, I'll be making periodic posts in the blog section about the different facets of the game engine, including Field Effects. To put it shortly, it is basically something that affects the combantants of battle in some way.
In this case, the Fire Field Effect is in effect. This multiplies the stats of the enemy party by two and increases the amount of Gold the party recieves at the end of battle.

Dragon Quest IX
post=85435From what I know of the DQ series, they are basically in trilogy arcs, where the world is similar (or the same) between three games. I know this is a definite for DQ1-3 and DQ4-6 (especially 4-6, which is why those were the ones remade instead of starting from the first one), but I dunno about between 7 and 8.
I don't know much about DQ. Is is like FF where the stories for each game are independent of each other?
I only have DQ1 and DQ8, but I'm looking forward to see what DQ9 has to offer to the series (which is ironic, considering that the formula for the actual GAMEPLAY portion hasn't changed since 1988 when the first game came out).

... or you could make it so that a certain skill is a certain Weapon element and make that weapon that Weapon element. Only lets you use the skill if you have a weapon with THAT specific Weapon element.
