If I'd made up my own school it would have been a lot like my real high school only it would have taught me things that are actually useful in my adult life instead of loading me up on standardized test answers, causing me use a ton of my after school/weekend/sleeping time to develop the skills that actually pay my bills today.

Also I would have unfired a cool teacher or two and repealed the stupid ban on hunting before school.

I think racial profiling at airports is a myth, mainly because I am the most obviously wonderbread white american known to man and airport security always gives me a dick of a time :[

Last time my bag set off some alarm because my mom's bee eff gave me some metal chimes and then they completely flipped their shit when my hands tested positive for gunshot residue. Cue a 30 minute delay while they ran everything I packed through the sniffer (watching a morbidly obese security staffer sweating bullets while delicately handling my electric shaver was actually pretty entertaining) while repeatedly insisting "this is normal, this is normal procedure". Surprisingly, they let me through when I said "well my dad was head of our local airport's security for years, tell me what TSA guidelines this falls under so I can sate my natural curiosity when I get home".

I mean I'm glad they're trying to keep the crazies off our planes but holy shitballs

Unless you were born with all the computer skills necessary to make games, then this just makes you look like a dick.

on a more constructive note:
nate, it sounds like you have a long road to travel before you're capable of creating a decent game, but the truth is that we all invested a lot of our own time into learning how to do stuff like this and your plight is not really that unique among beginners. At most times this is quite a challenging hobby and the time and effort required to make anything passable (even with ez-bake tools like RM) doesn't really make it viable for people to just idly screw with in their free time unless they already have a solid base of computer experience. If you want to make games badly enough, though, you'll put the work into it, and sites like these offer good resources and advice to those who choose to walk The Path. :p

tl;dr basically I think it would be a little premature to just walk away from the scene at this point, but I don't really have any insight into your motives or level of interest so /shrug
