Description

Welcome one and all to the first TimTam Game Slam! This event is basically about teaming up with other people to create games within a set time, based around a theme. It also comes with a prize - a packet of TimTams sent to your door!

What are TimTams? Why, only the best chocolate biscuit in the world! Well, okay, maybe not the absolute best, but they're freakin' amazing and I swear by them. They come in a variety of flavours and they taste so good you won't want to share them - which is great since they come in a pack of 11, making them impossible to divide evenly with your friends.

They're also Australian and I swear by them. Yeah boi~<3

RULES

- Teams of three people, no more, no less.
- Any engine as long as the games are playable without.
- This is a competition, as such all games will be judged!
- Each game needs to be over 10 minutes long at least.
- No dumb-ass joke games. The game needs to be of a reasonable quality to count.
- The game needs to stick to one of the themes and be recognisably based on that theme.
- Gamepage required.

EVENT STARTS: 23rd of February
EVENT ENDS: 31st of March

Theme: ART

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

+Any resources are fine, but keep in mind that people might stream or LP your games, so attempt to use non-copyrighted music where possible. The Emperor's March might be cool as balls, but it tends to get videos taken down no matter if it's a remix or midi version. There's a ton of free-to-use music out there if you look around, and even youtube has a bunch of channels dedicated to sharing such.

+ You can use resources from old projects, but the actual body of work needs to be new (this means maps and database stuff).

+ If you win and don't like biscuits or chocolate or the like, let me know and we can work out another Aussie snack as a prize instead.

+ Gamepage needs to be accepted to the site before you can even add your entry to the event page, so remember to get them in reasonably early!

+ Liberty is judging you. Hi~ o/

PRIZES

Contributors - A 20MS badge for taking part, providing the game/demo is over 10 minutes long and of reasonable quality.

Winners - A 75MS badge for each of the winning team and a packet of TimTams sent to your door (you can choose from a variety of flavours).

Sigh. So...I linked the wrong file to the RMN download, apparently. I can prove the right file was set in my google drive for download within the deadline, would that work?
If not...well. *exhausted shrug*

I confused the two goddamn links from my drive folder when assigning the download, but the build was finished and uploaded in time:

Fixed the link. Correct download is https://drive.google.com/open?id=19qkKJRvDj-EDGG4UGZZf1G8LN-1ghDfO

If not valid...can we at least get it streamed, I guess?
I'm gonna go cry in a corner now, pray excuse me...sorry Fomar.
Well, reviewing it, I'll add it to the list for playing. I was going to give it a pity play like with Rose's but since it was uploaded on time then that's fine.

Hold up... Lemme rewatch that part of the stream, because I think Libby downloaded the copy before I made a bunch of stealth updates. It doesn't fix the Vitruvian Man teleport glitch and anything to do with the battles, but the teleportation problems with the towns should absolutely be fixed.

EDIT: Disregard all this...
I downloaded the games straight after the event ended, so stealth upgrades past that point? Not allowed.

I should specify that I made the updates on the 29th, but yeah, you got the most up-to-date.

for those who managed to snag the game before i deleted the files (don't worry, i'll reupload a better version soon), here's the fatal errors i know of:

  • Do NOT use Tal'hn's "Soothe" ability.
  • Do NOT interact with a skeleton node after Harland has joined the party.

an example of a skeleton node. there's only four so it shouldn't be an issue.

...i think that's it. i hope so ;V i suggest saving a lot just in case. ;)

They told me I was mad when I said I was going to create a spidertable. Who’s laughing now!!!

Gotta say, there are some amazingly polished games in this group! Great job, everyone! :DDD
I have found out that also, interacting with one of the spiders causes a crash too. Ooops.

Bugs abound in all the games I've played so far, but that's part of the fun sometimes. XD

Hey there weren't any bugs in ours. :(

i can't replicate that, libby... :| it must not have anything to do with vermin directly unless i'm missing something. welp.

(hoping you enjoy the ending though)

I mean, it was made by you lot so that itself is a bug.

It had a note "You've already beaten..." in the error box. IDK

it was probably a skeleton because i can't find a messed-up spider on the game map, but that's the error with the sksletons --

i originally missed a quotation mark if you re-fight this specific troop with Harland in the party.

if you didn't have harland at all then just RIP me lol because i have no idea, no lines in the code have "already" or "beat" etc.
I could have sworn it was a spider but it was in the desert area so it seems like it was most likely a skeleton since Harland was in the party. WELP!

Watched the ending of the Greenlands stream to make sure you got to... that part. I'm glad you enjoyed it XD (I'll watch the full stream/s after work <3 )

Sadness is an incredibly favorable way to express what was seen.

"Illy
you're fired"

But I'm glad some good came from it.

EDIT: Unless by "sadness" you mean "embarrassment to the community", in which case I wholeheartedly agree.

@Corf what do you mean by what you just posted? Did you legitimately "fire" a member of your team?
