Actually that doesn't look too bad, good stuff! :)

EDIT: Not again! top of page...and well...I do have something but not really ready to show anything new...yet...
Huzzah. I'm just playin' around with a bit of RPG maker 2003 RTP. It's supposed to be final dungeon sort of place. You know, like the N-Zone from Final Fantasy V. All weird with a bit of everything everywhere.

>_>

It's definitely weird. It took me a while to figure out what was going on. Since that's what you're going for, good job!
Finally! I've managed to do a map using RTP in a...."Non-bad" way, shall we say? Usually my RTP maps come out...er...a little more blocky. That, or I've just gotten better!

I think it's soon time for me to pick back up DFII and start work on that soon, though. I've been workin' on alot of stuff OTHER than that. I have to teach myself to finish one thing before I start another. =\

And thanks for the comment! =)
I could only wonder what that pan is.

Man that map looks crazy ass buzzy as hell. Great work Ephiam!
Okay...I'll add something.

Been working on making some colored flags these get replaced by houses, hotels, etc when you finally break down and buy some.

And...this player is screwed, no question about it! ;D

(Almost done Part 2! Trying to get er done by the weekend) ;D

EDIT: Done all the property cards! Here's one:

Of course, there isn't enough room to add building information, so I'll have a seperate screen (build command) tell you how much you need to buy a place, and how much the poor sucker needs to pay when he lands on it.

:)
BOOYAH!! Super Dooper Randomized Screenshot Tyyymee!!

What started as a task
to learn a new chipset. Pretty much turned into
a replica of the example I was using, albeit a
few changes and whatnot.

I kinda don't even know how to take credit for this,
meh...

~Sion
Sion: Very detailed and populated as well good map of a castle.

Silver4donuts: The game is looking good so far, I wanna see how the engines work by myself when I get to play your demo.

Ephiam: Good idea, although I would have preffered that you use a different chipset for that... it look like a distorted reality.

Here are some pics of Soldier's quest next update: If you played the game before, then you have noted that there is no world map, instead the traveling is like in zelda sort of thing... so here are pics of some of the roads you travel to...

And this is inside a water tunnel/cave:

@ Darken: Ha ha. Well, I can't leave you guessing now, can I? But it's only an evening sky panorama (an RTP one at that), so it's nothign all too special. I should have put something more freaky there...like eyes! Hands! Lips! Or...something. Eh.

@Tau: Thanks! But I don't really think it's THAT off-the-wall. Come to think of it...I might try something like that for Dragon Fantasy II...*rubs chin*

@Silver4donuts: Oh man! There's some colorful maps for ya! Are you SURE that's bein' made on RPG maker? I dunno...it doesn't really look like anything I'd find on one! It's just so...colorful and customized! Makes me think of a starburst when I look at it. :X i definitly like the look of it, and I really like the concept of a Monopoly-styled game! Best of luck in makin' it, and I'll definitly try to try it out when it's done!

@Sion: Wowza. I remember your screenshots from way back when. Now...it wasn't really THAT far back, but it was back during the time when I was frst trying RPG maker. I can't remember if they were MADE by you, but you were postin' 'em up. Regardless, they were great back then and now is no different! It's just full of detail and....just fun to look at! I like cluttered maps, so I definitly like that look of that one.

@antifarea Niiice. I don't see too many games around now that use that sort of traveling system. I tried it once, but it never really worked out for me too well. I couldn't really get the areas to blend well -.-;. Anyway, enough of that. It looks great so far! I especially like the first screenshot. It really gives me that...forest-ey feeling.

Anywhoo, here's another little 'sumtin by me. It is (of course) another shot of DFII. Nothing too special, though. It's only a small little Inn/Item Shop/Eatery.

World maps are overrated!

@ Ephiam: I bet that large bedroom would make for some easy rape crimes.

I actually laughed at that one.

@Ephiam: Dude, I can't believe I didn't say anything before about that game.
I love the Dragon Quest series. Do you have a Game folio thingy for it
on this site?

~Sion
Huh? A page for the game, you mean? Yessir, I do indeed have one. It is riiiight...here: http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/430/

Er..I hope, anyway. :X

EDITZ: Or...well, yeah...I could have just told you to check my sig, but OH WELL!
World maps = teh lames.
I do the routes between places thing too. It can be hard to blend the chipsets sometimes, but ussually the differences are negligible.

Part of a pure-puzzle area, inspired by Crescent Island, from Zelda: Oracle of Ages. Fucking Tokay.

Absolutely man, this is looking great. Everything blends together pretty naturally, and it definitely works. I wish I could combine chipsets so easily, myself.
@ Silver4donuts: I've just realised how much work creating a Monopoly game would be, glad i'm not doing it xD.

@ Sion: Nice! I'm liking that a lot. One tiny nitpick with the two NPC's at the bottom right at the front of the bookcase, I've personally always hated it when NPCs get right in each others faces like that.

@ Ephiam: Good as always, keep it up! Your RM2K3 map is a bit crazy though.

@ Euphorian: That is one tasty combination. You're a very good mapper too. I've always liked the idea of routes instead of a world map like in Pokemon or Zelda etc, but I can't be bothered.

I don't appreciate this. It's supposed to be a clusterfuck, but couldn't it be a bit more sensical with the nonsense? Like even if the waterfall is falling on the carpet in the bottom, the carpet doesn't have to be below the waterfall. I think this map needs extensive work.

Nevermind, it's not a carpet. Still think it needs some work.
Huh? Ha ha.When you're talking about the carpet, I have not the sweetest clue what you're referring to! Do you mean the...white stuff beneath the 3rd waterfall? (I count from Left-to-right, so the 3rd would the the right-most one!) And SOME work? It needs (as you said0 ALOT of work! But it's the best I could do for it. Besides, it was just a random map for fun, and it isn't bein' used in any project of mine. I guess I just wanted to fool around with the RTP abit.(But I'll still try and do better next time!)

I still don't think the map is TOO nonsensicle, though. Well, besides the bed and stuff up top, but that's only a minor thing! (That and the random pieces of rock; Ice, normal, fire...etc.)
Agreed with Ephiam, where do you see a carpet? I like the map's general layout, I just hate some of the things that the RTP does, like how the waterfall actually starts a bit out from the water. Things like that bother me.
Euphorian, that's really nice. The colors on the grass really makes the difference in that screenshot. I would get rid of the brown part of the road the character is standing on. The texture difference between the regular ground and that is too great. Other than that, it's fantastic.

Sion, yours is good too. I've seen it before...from someone else! Great work regardless.

antifarea, the maps aren't too bad. Though they don't look like they have anything going for them. Not having a world map is a great idea, but only if you make good use of the areas you're traveling through. It's just wasting the players time if you go through 3-5 maps that all look the same with no secrets to them!
I'm just judging this based on what I'm seeing. They just seem a little bland in terms of actual design.
