I spent an hour playing FFRK with my 6 year old son yesterday. Not sure this was the best way to introduce him to Final Fantasy, but he had fun. It was mindlessly simple, but assuming that will change.

Roaming Warriors make the beginning portion super-mindless, yeah. If you're playing by yourself, I'd suggest not even using them (or only using them as an "oh shit" button). It definitely ramps up, and there are plenty of gimmicky bosses to enjoy.

I'm a F2P with mostly shitty gear and he wiped me. I changed my setup and turned the whole battle into a joke and Mastered with full medals.
Roaming: Advance
Beatrix 65 - Double Cut/Curaga
Ramza 50 - Double Cut/Power Breakdown
Gilgamesh 65 (MVP) - Draw Fire/Retaliate
Terra 65 - Waterja/Armor Breakdown
Yuna 80 - Protectga/Curaja
Don't attack him until you get Protectga and PwrBreakdown on.
Heal almost every turn.
Nuke him with Waterja when he withdraws (usually no longer than two turns.)
His auto attack hits four times, so if you have Draw Fire up, Greg will counter 4 times for 5,000 damage each swing with Advance.
Don't be afraid to use Tyro either.
MC2 aside, you really want to Master this one.
It's probably a good idea to knock out the Relm event within the first two days. Daily dungeons reset on the 13th and that'll cost quite a bit of your daily stamina. Obviously you don't have to do the dailies right away, but it's nice to have Mythril.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Wiegraf died like a little bitch, I didn't even lose a single medal. Advantaliate is pretty absurdly overpowered on purely physical bosses.
Belias went down first try because my party is awesome now. However, what the FUCK is up with the medals on that fight? Mastery is absolutely not happening. I'm not even convinced it's theoretically possible.

Blind Belias, buff your damage, hit Archdemon with holy damage, AoE the Archdemons down, and get two forms of magic mitigation and slow up before the weak phase (Shellga/Wall superior, Shellga/Magic Breakdown sufficient). You should only miss 1-2 damage medals and nothing else. You're a veteran player and should have diverse enough hones to achieve this.
On my mastery attempt, I didn't even bring blind (see top of this page). you need a protectga ASAP (edgar's drill did that for me), wall, Mind BD and shellga of some sort up by the time belias is in 50% weak phase.
otherwise, yeah. AoE is essential. Make sure you bring something Holy for the archaodemons. I suggest Saint Cross or Banishing Strike if you don't have Alex (we get it in Braska event so i'm waiting to craft it).
if you have a knight (holy attack + buffga), a support (full break + mind bd), and the trinity in some formation, you should be totally set. boostga helps a ton too, native or shout up to you.

Not what I was aiming for, but I'll be loving my 6* Oath Veil (already had one) on Celes now =P Rest of my myth going for Basch. Might roll 5 myth on Vincent's cloak, idk. I was only gonna roll once, but I was mad and the gyshal green update will give us a fuckton of free myth this week.

I had Yshtola die right after refreshing wall, and the rest of the party ended with a sliver of health, but still got mastery. The new medal requirements are incredibly generous.
What accessories are you using? I brought all my death resistance accessories, and it resulted in several misses. That probably saved me a damage medal by itself.
Just unlocked PLD Cecil's Holy Blade MC2. I love it. It only heals for like 250 on auto-attacks, but Ima see if MND makes the healing better.

What are the chances of us getting all 35k greens we need for the limited exchanges that end in a week?
That's 5000 greens a day. I've only got 1000 after finishing my stamina out on the lower stamina dailies.

I remembered I had two holy-elemental AOE soul breaks, so I brought them both and gave both of those people the materia that let them use them immediately on round 1. Well, immediately after buffing my attack. Mastery achieved.
I actually didn't know the medal requirements had been relaxed again. I guess that means they can now make ultimate battles where the mastery requirement is simply "don't suck" instead of "do all these arbitrary things," if they want.

If anyone is still waiting to see if they buff the FFT banner, now is probably the time to pull. They gave all banners an increased chance of 5star gear, and if player reports are to be trusted, they may have accidentally dedicated the rate increase to Valiant Knife (Locke's SSB). I'm guessing it will be replaced with increased chance of shared SBs or statsticks, so if you are planning on pulling it is probably best to do it before the bug is fixed.
This also applies to the ffvi banner.

i did 5 myth each on fft and relm after the valiant knife news and got... two 4*s i already have maxed out and don't need more of! so that's nice. they'll make great exp mats for... something, eventually. (ffxiii glove i have a 4++ of and snow's platinum; ffxiii bracer i have a 4+++ of and the gold bracer. yeah i could use more except i also have two light armors for ffxiii... shut up jude i know i have a favoritism problem XD )

Bloody hell. I need to look at words better.
I'll probably have to wait until next week to clear out these double dailies. Insufficient stamina. Anybody know if we'll get enough MC2 lodes from events to cover all of the characters? Deciding if I'll be grabbing them from the chocobo shop or not.
