hey, hey! i'm looking for a specific type of game, and im REALLY hoping for it to be complete. i'm looking for rpg games without, battles. also, if possible, more of a casual game than a horror. i'm beat on horror games at the moment. does anyone have any suggestions?
So they don't need to be all traditional in style since horror games are okay.
So let's see, I love those without battles myself too, I would highly suggest one that's being worked on, but welp, it's not up yet.
I'll link all kinds of things, so choose your pick of what sounds fun!
Some of them may reach 2 hours (Goblin Noir may come close), but most are really short and they are all fairly casual too.
My favorite Hero Maker, comedy, "battle" system being a dialogue choice being acted out
Panorama, drama, mini-games, story
charblar's Prelude, drama something, very short
A girl, her brother and his lamp, interactive movie, very short
No-one has to Die, weak horror, interesting story (probably known)
Project1, comedy, meta-analysis
Exeunt Omnes, dialogue-game, "strategy"

Odd-ball entries:
I hate my Flatmates, comedy (a lil mixed)
Molasses Meow, I'm either a masochist or a sadist, but this game is fascinating and can be.. fun
With Sprinkles, cute
The End of the Witch of Lorven, cutscene/movie, drama
Goblin Noir: Cement Shoes are highly Fashionable, has "talk" battle-system, story-focus
Out the Window , comedy, text-game (if I ever get the chance to link it, then it's now!)
The Shoe's on the Other Food 2, psychodelic, non-horror

holy hell! thank you for so many suggestions. i'm going to check them out right now! i've played "panorama" already and it was amazing!
You're welcome!
Being a reviewer has its perks ;)
And yes, I really loved Panorama myself. It was such a neat surprise!
Oh, I can also add Thin Walls, drama

My, my,
I would suggest Last Word. I started playing the steam version about a month ago and 'discussions' are engaging and fun. However it's too chatty for my current tastes.

I'm pretty sure both Sorceress Quest and The Astonishing Captain Skull are adventure games that have no battles.
*Edit: I suppose a mention of Dreaming Mary would be on the "horror game" side of the equation?

The Befuddle Quest games have no battles , but the games themselves are an eccletic mix as they were made by the community for puzzle events and thrown together into a game with a loose story
um kentona the unreleased latest befuddle quest DOES have battles because i made an entirely evented RPG for it.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

adventure games that have no battles.
He's specifically asking for RPG games that have no battles though, not adventure games. So, unless I'm misunderstanding, something where you have characters that have classes and grow in stats and gain new equipment, but you send them off to fight automatically and then they report to you with the results.
Recettear would definitely qualify and is also an amazing game (though very late in the game you can also do the battles yourself if you really want). I'm sure I've played others but can't think of them right now.

adventure, mystery, post-apocalyptic, detective, retro, nes, puzzle, , platformer, really anything with a good story. and has decent play time, i just picked up a couple of sci-fi. idk, it's just something about those rpg battles that really bug me.

Oh, how could I forget .. Erayu, a point-and-click adventure.
How are the games turning out so far?
I'm actually playing ERAYU right now! I'm really digging it. Also, I picked up another horror game. "Blank Dream" and that one is pretty good.
