-----Turn 1-----
The sky grows grey as clouds move in to block the sun. A winter wind blows across the Azure Autumn trees, blowing through patches of light-blue mountain grass. In response, cyan crystalline flowers begin to bloom across the mountainside and glow with an eerie luminescence, offsetting the overcast darkness. The wind grows stronger, and a sudden gust sends a shiver down five of the six adventurers spines, who continue walking along the steep, grey dirt path up the mountainside. Eventually, a light snow begins to fall, and the creature at the head of the group of five points towards an indentation in the cliffside, where five other sets of eyes lay upon a marble-white entrance jutting out from the side of the cliff. WIth a new purpose, the party picks up their pace and arrives in front of the passageway.
The creature at the head pulls down it’s hood as the party reaches the entrance, revealing pale-green skin, an orcish face with small tusks, and short, thin black hair. He speaks to the other five adventurers;
“Okay, here’s the entrance. Don’t know what’s inside, I don’t wanna know. I’ll wait for you out here to escort you back. Should we set up a camp here, where we’re secluded from the wind, or do you want to head inside immediately?”

Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

"I must admit all of this climbing has me quite tired. I think resting up might not be a terrible idea. Can you get started on the campsite? I'll join you in a short while."

I sit down on a rock and start praying.

"Yeah, I'm knackered. You can't killy killy with no energy. I say we set up camp."
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

@Seiromem, For my curse spells, can I make a suggestion/request? Have them inflict one specific disease all the time, or else let me choose the disease each time.

This might just be a pet peeve, but I really dislike the idea of the effect being random. Randomly failing at a strategy I'm trying to do doesn't bother me - that's part of any tabletop RPG - but being unable to choose a strategy in the first place feels very disempowering.

---

I look at the passageway studiously. It's definitely been here a long time.

"If we're to make camp, let us do it inside. A shelter already built is surely better than any we could sew together in the next ten minutes... unless you think the inhabitants will take offense." I smirk at the idea.

I speak with a nobleman's accent, belying my outward appearance of a brainless, lumbering oaf of a zombie draped in layers of ashen cloaks. Lighting my torch, for heat more than light, I sit down a few strides inside the doorway, my back to the stone wall.

"Whatever resides in there cannot possibly be as unholy as you, so I don't disagree with this proposition." I say without opening my eyes.

Though to an outsider, it might appear as though I am intolerant of the giant zombie, the two of us have a strong bond of trust, forged in a long history of comradeship.

"He does have a point, you do kinda look like you were dropped into a pot of lava as a baby."
It's fun to tease the lovable oaf, he's super ugly though.
I try to peer into the dark entranceway, but I can't make out anything. I really don't want to go in there... At least not yet; who knows what kind of unnatural monsters may lie in wait in there.
"We've had a long journey behind us; a rest wouldn't be a bad idea. I for one am knackered; my legs certainly weren't made for such extended bipedal travel."

I also don't want to sleep inside the ruin, but with the strong wind, nothing we build is as likely to stand as the ruins, that might already have been here for thousands of years and withstood far worse than these winds.

"Wind often brings clouds and rain with it, and that's no good for a campfire--not discounting the wind, itself. I agree that's it better to seek shelter within the ruin."

"Caves are okay, and great for ambushes and secret killy killy! I say we set up camp in the cave!" I say, daydreaming of sweet sweet murder!

"Sophie, I hate to repeat myself, the gods frown upon honourless killing. As effective as your stealth may be, it will only serve to hasten your judgement."

I finish my prayers and come down from the rock.

"Let us not go too far into these ruins yet. We should explore the first room, and set up camp there."
"Well, I figure there's enough room for us to camp out under this overhang, and I'd rather be able to see where I sleep."

where five other sets of eyes lay upon a marble-white entrance

Wait, does this mean there are 5 other people here or did I misread that?

I'm pretty sure it just means that beside our guide, there's also us five.

-----Turn 2-----
The small-tusked man nods and turns towards the party.
"As you do, then. I'll keep watch at the entrance."
The party walks into the ruins entrance and takes a look around.
They appear to enter a small lobby-like area, with three separate passageways that appear to descend beneath the earth even more so. Blue moss grows along the edges of the walls and ceiling, thick with moisture. Small Puddles dot the floor, leaving little even, dry ground to set up upon. Nevertheless, the party sets up a small camp. A campfire is placed in the center of the room and bedrolls are set-up on the driest ground near the entrance. The sound of sleet can be heard outside, as the pellets of ice batter against the stone and a harsh gale can be heard. After the fire is set ablaze, the tusked man supplies the meal: Meat contained in a jelly-like substance housed in a copper bowl that melts when heated up over the fire.
After sitting and eating, the party feels refreshed, and avoids fatigue for resting after the hike. The tusked man speaks.
"I don't know what you expect to find in these ruins, but it'll likely be monsters and not much gold. My tribe has no legends or lore surrounding this place; only that we are to never go near it. Of course, gold tends to break many traditions for me, but never the less I hope it's worth the risk. If I don't see you by dawn of the second day, I'm leaving without you."
The party nods, acknowledging his statement.
Of course, this country bumpkin couldn't possibly know of the treasure that lies within: an artifact of power. Good that he doesn't try to come along, in this case, and someone to cover your backs seems like a good idea.
"Now, it's only the afternoon, perhaps you might find out what's down those passages, 'ay? I'll keep the look-out."
Another harsh gale howls outside, and the tusked man crouches near the entrance.

Well, at least I correctly predicted precipitation.

Seiromem: What information do we have about these ruins, aside from "artifact of power"?

You recall the ruin's connection to the extinct Shadow-spawn people, whose culture is unknown. Ruins like these are rare, and often house magical traps or creatures with an affinity for shadows. Inside the few ruins that have been searched thoroughly lay magical devices of unknown or dangerous function, all having to do with modifying the magic within one's soul.

"Hopefully no one suggests we split up to cover more ground." I groan. "I'd be ill able to haul your carcasses out if you fall victim to these depths surrounded by naught but moss and rotting stone. And I'm sure Sophie would leave you in the dark with blood gurgling from your lungs. She's more sense than me, at least when it comes to self-preservation.

I inspect the wrappings around my rotting hands. "Not that I lack my own accomplishments in that field, I suppose."

I address the guide. "In lieu of legends and lore, perhaps you neglected to mention a map? Wishful thinking, I suppose."

I shine my torch down the middle path. "Very well. If we're to follow one of these cursed roads, this is as good as any. Let us hope the frightened superstitions the orc spins round this place are nothing but."

Begin to lead the party down the middle path.

"Booo, that's no fun thoough! You don't get to see the life drain out of their eyes!"

"It'll be fiiiiine, who cares about silly superstition, if we get in trouble we just murder everything and hope for the best! Middle path it is, Uglyface!"

"Use as much stealth as you like. I'm the one with rattling chains," I say as I press ahead.

"There's no honor to be found in killing giant scorpions and slime creatures in the first place. If we end up fighting people on this excursion, we'll have made a serious error in judgement in coming here."
