A note that any game that does not fit a specific category (for example, a game that is not a demo in a demo-only category) will be removed during the end of Misao round-up! So keep your votes relevant!
Right. Things can always slip through the cracks. It's already been mentioned that Exile's Journey should not have been a consideration this year for "Best Demo", with dethmetal requesting that people place their votes elsewhere.
The other award to consider is "Year of the Hedgehog". Like, okay, I fully admit to not having played any of the games listed there. I do know lavendersiren is among the awardees of a certain achievement, and that they made Two Strangers: The Third Stranger. That does not necessarily invalidate the other entries, as the award is a more generalized award for major characters that are from the animal kingdom. I certainly can't speak for Stories of New Eden, but, I am inclined to think that Shooty and the Catfish likely has a certain animal presence.

Looking again at the description for "Year of the Hedgehog", it merely states that it is for the best use of, and I quote, "animals/doggos/pets/hedgehogs/lobsters". I think I might have been confusing myself with the similarly named achievement award

There's options that don't require playing, like best game title, best game profile, and eye candy!
I am going through playing all the Misao-nominated games slowly on my RPG Maker Cola stream. Although not very systematically. I think this year I’m going to be more intentional about uploading playthroughs, video content, and stuff that will help boost people’s awareness of RPG Maker games. Need to find a nice way to host playthroughs, though.
Played Beetle Ninja! It was way more good than I was expecting! Great and innovative gameplay, nice mechanics. The whole package, really!
I still think THERAPIST might be my GOTY but that’s only because it might be one of the most innovative RPG Maker games I’ve played in a long time.

THERAPIST: Mind Manager is up for 6 awards, so I kinda feel it's bound to win something. Though, if we're talking about games with sheer number of categories it was nominated for, then, absolutely watch out for New Eden, and Exile's Journey! Though, I must remember that Exile's Journey was nominated for a category it arguably shouldn't have been nominated for (ie: Most Promising Demo). Even so, it still has a decent number of categories it can be voted for!
*Edit: Just as many as Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening. XD
*Edit2: As long as I was talking about it, the OP has been updated to reflect the correct number of categories that Exile's Journey can be voted for. And in so doing, allow me to reiterate this:

I highly recommend even just playing 30 minutes of each GOTY nominated game so you can a general idea of how the year’s gone for RPG Maker dot net developers. Let’s get immersed and have a bit of a survey of what’s going on.

Because it was the only one nominated! (I think the number of votes required to be nominated is 2, and it was the only game with at least 2 votes.)

Pretty much this. A game needs at least two nominations to be able to proceed into the voting period. Even then, getting The game with no name to acquire the minimum 2 nominations was a last-minute thing
*Edit: It's something of a shame that only The game with no name managed to obtain enough nominations for "Best Event Game". Even within the Trials of MZ event, there were some very interesting titles. To say nothing of Kill the Cuitie (I hear 7 Minutes is pretty good), Theme Roulette 3, Valentiny, Seasons of

So we almost did not get even a single Event Game in the Misaos this year?
That is just...That's really sad. :(
(Maybe I'm biased, as I do most of my Gam Mak during Events. Still, Events are great little incubators for bite sized games, so it's sad that they got so ignored this year)

Yeah, there were some event games I thought were really good, and I just didn't think to nominate them ;_; I hope to do better next year

I feel like it'd be good to work on nomination drives throughout the year- like make announcements at the end of every event, maybe even a seasonal roundup thread for people to talk about new games they think deserve attention.
