In the dream of a child stands an ancient manor filled with forsaken fancies and empty memories. Mysterious yet familiar to the child that wanders the lifeless house. What lies at the start of waking? Is this truly a dream? A memory? An illusion or reality?

This project contains the compiled maps from the Manor Mapping Madness collaboration. The aim of this project was to create a room with atmosphere - whether it be spooky, dream-like or creepy is up to the map maker.

Bug Update

There's a bug in the new version which makes it impossible to pass. I'm not sure exactly how it happened but a variable was changed and broke the event to get the sun key. I've since fixed the map but there's a few small bits and pieces I've been meaning to fix as well and I'd like to get them done before I upload the (here's hoping) absolute version.

Just unzip and paste the Map0005 and Map0043 files in with the rest of the maps (in the game folder). That should fix it up for now.

If you run into any more bugs, just leave a comment under this blog and I'll add it to the list for fixing and update the patch above.

Quick Update: Added another map to the patch (in downloads section). Apparently one of the switches had been deleted in the end event, leading to the game not being able to be finished. No idea how that came to pass but it's fixed now. Thankfully.

Oh, yeah, I've yet to post up the new version with all the fixes. I've been kinda busy and my computer's been a bit buggy. >.<;
But! I will try to finish the alternate ending today and put it up, computer-willing.

Thanks, we're looking forward to it :)
By the way this game is the first game which wet my pants in the first adult time,
I enjoy the horrors ._.
I didn't finish this event. Maybe next time(if there is a next time), I will be playing this though.
i don't know why but the game won't start, whenever i try it says "the file systemc2 cannot be opened.
That's my fault. It's fixed in the version I've yet to upload (I'm stuck on something >.<; ).

Use this as a fix: http://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/1013/locker/system2c.png
Make a new folder where all the other ones are called "System2" and place that file in it.

Will this fix the crash in the bathroom with the hand mirror? That's where I have trouble. BTW, even if the endless blackness wasn't on purpose, it was actually kind of spooky. I could seek no worse hell methinks. Why not run with the glitch, though, and have no visual events, instead making it a sound map where you have to listen to find your way in the dark. While I admit it wouldn't work for deaf players, it would be a really great approach, and might even work for Faenon.
Yes. I've got them all fixed. Or all the ones that were reported. But yes, that one's fixed. It was something wrong with the teleport, I think, and completely unintentional. >.<;

Cool. But the idea of sound mapping might really be something to try in the future. Let me know when the patched version is actually up for download
I'll put up an announcement blog when it is. ^.^
I got stuck in the room with the barrels. After 20 minutes, I guess the best answer is alt+f4 and delete the game. It had come to that since there's no button at all to bring up the menu to even quit, let alone save. The background music was so absurdly unfit with the horror theme, and given the first puzzle was press space at every 'square' to find the right gear for the knights - there's little incentive to go further. I can't comment on the story...because, well, the opening gives none, which lessen any incentive to go on. There's hardly any interaction with the environment too. Sorry but skip this game.

Yeah, that puzzle is a bit senseless, and, as far as I can see there are a few too many bugs... but a new version is coming and hopefully this one will have them ALL fixed!

The wine cellar right? Yeah, that was my room. This is rather disheartening to hear. There is an answer, however. Try checking out the walkthrough.

I thought saving was done with the press of the "9" key? The blat at the opening that mentions that "nine saves" is a rather oblique reference....
Oh hai! Methinks you might have come into this project with the thought that it was an epic story or puzzle game. No. This was meant to be a project with just pretty, atmospheric maps, but thanks to some additions by the mappers, it has some play elements, hence had to have a story and became a sort of 'adventure/puzzle' RPG.

9 saves, which is pretty apparent, but maybe I'll make it even more so. >.<;
And yeah, a few people got stuck in that room, but hell, I got it on my first play through after a short while. You didn't try everything.

Anyway, thanks for playing, but if you only went to two rooms, I urge you to retry and take a look around the mansion some more. There are a lot of pretty maps in there that deserve and ogle.
Another horror game in rpgmaker ! :)
Where is the download? I would so like the play this please?

Just click on the letters "Download Now" top right.
I just downloaded the game but it doesn't work. Do I need to extract the files somewhere, are there more instructions on how to actually start the game?

Please help!
First, you extract the files (anywhere should do) and double-click the exe file to play. It might help if you have the RTP files installed on your computer. A quick 'RPG Maker 2003 RTP' search in google should net you them.
If an error message pops up, let me know. There's been an issue with a missing file, due to different RTP sets.

I receive an error message: "the file systemc2 cannot be opened." :/
