Plot Overview

In the world of Linguardia, the nations of Rikalia and Dorent are the reigning powers. Although both leaders have been at peace for centuries, a dark cloud is on the horizon. King Richard, leader of the Rikalian Empire, has recently lost his wife and daughter to a pack of demons. Now, his mind twisted from grief, Richard is on a quest for domination. His plan: to harness the power of the six legendary crystals, which, according to scriptures, will bestow the wielder with unimaginable powers if brought together. With Richard on a path of destruction to collect the crystals, war seems inevitable.

Players take control of Epoch Lander, Captain of Richard's Dragon Knights, an elite force within the Rikalian Empire. However, when Epoch begins questioning the morals behind Richard's actions, he is arrested for treason and sentenced to death. With his head full of unanswered questions, Epoch must decide whether to accept his fate or fight for what he believes to be the greater good: even if it means fighting alone.

Soundtrack Complete!

Jose has just finished the last two songs of the soundtrack, bringing the OST to a grand total of 36 songs. With those final two, the Forever's End soundtrack is now complete! I really have to thank Jose for all the hard work he put into these songs. They all sound fantastic, and I can't wait to release the next episode with them implemented. Great job, bro!

Do know though, there are a few songs that will be included with the game that aren't custom. Not many, but a few, mainly because some of my cutscenes were already built around these songs. However, all of the ones included on this gamepage are the custom ones composed by Jose.

With the soundtrack complete, I thought I'd list out a few of my personal favorites. If you have any favorites, please comment and show Jose some love.

Traveling - Overworld Theme

The Reprieve

Dangerous Wilderness

The Death Knight - Marcellus' Theme

Spiritualization

Journeying Forward

Cutting a Path

In the Heat of Battle - Boss Theme 2

Well, the bugs aren't really that major just bgm loss and maxed stats for a few characters which doesn't affect the gameplay much. It's for the current version I believe..anyway just got to the end hehe no spoilers for anyone that hasn't gotten that far yet though. :)

To get things cleared ; @NicoB, is this download a different version from the one i played end of may, just a bug fixed version or again, an updated version, or 2 of those or the three?
author=GoneWind
Ahm, just registered to report the game (version 1.04) still has that music+sound bug (for me) and already crashed twice during my replay of it (I'm in the royal hunting grounds).

"it crashed" isn't very useful without the actual error message. What exactly was the last thing you did and what message appeared?

It's an updated version with some bug fixes, although for some reason, fixing one bug caused a bunch of other ones to surface. Anyway, the stat bug only showed up after applying some patches (which makes absolutely no sense to me, honestly) in v.1.04. I just released v.1.05 that should fix this bug (check the blog).

I already gave detailed explenations+the error massage in all of my other posts, but I'll write it down again ^_^
Error is something like: "game could not be completed because of low memory resources". The bug seems to be triggered by having too much sound effects at the same time, usually during boss or just "hard battles", when you mash the buttons too fast. The first thing to happen is that the sound effects in battle become weird, and than disapear completely. When you finish the battle (if the game doesn't crash before I complete it), the music turns off, and if I try to leave the screen, the game crashes. If I die during battle I get the game over screen and the game crashes.

I'm not sure if it's a problem in my computer\the game\both, but I already tried playing the game without other programs (including firefox) open, so I have no other ideas.

Edit: Oh, and I don't remember having any big problems in my original playthrough of this game (the first demo).
Oh, sorry, I must have missed the description.
OK finished, really had a nice time messing with this game. Some quick notes.

Story- Well, as someone who claims to be able to write a bit (in my native language), and as a hardcore snes era rpg fan, I can't ignore the fact this game has some serios writing flaws, and also the fact that it borrows many aspects from (extremely) famous rpgs. Some of the dialogues\monologues made me laugh, or worse- I "knew what's coming next". I haven't had this kind of reaction since Eragon. On the other hand, the had it's neat moments, and I especially liked the past sequences about the Lost and Alex.

Gamplay- You deffinetly got better with time. You could actually see the way you improved with creating dungeons, puzzles, bosses and such. As an explorer type rpg fan, I enjoyed finding all those cool secrets in game. Despite that, sometimes it just felt like you got overboard with adding content to the game, to the point that I couldn't keep track of all the things I done in game.
Also, sometimes I felt that bosses are way too weak compared to the rare monsters you fight beforehand.

Other notes- Audio and graphics were never the most importent thing for me, but I think they were good enough. I did recognize the rips, but that was ok in my point of view. The game wasn't as long as I imagened it to be, I saw better (even in the rpg maker comunity), and I think adding some sidequest to prevent the liniarity would benefiet the game. The game also wasn't too hard to finish. the only place I struggled in was in lionel's castle, which was one of the best parts in game.

Technical issues- Well, I already talked a lot about this part, so I want say much, just that despite all of those I still enjoyed the game, even when I had to retrace my steps some times.

Bottom line- Nice game, I'll really consider taking some of my time to write some kind of a guide to this game.
Thanks GoneWind. I'm glad you enjoyed it for the most part. If you don't mind, I'd like to know about the problems you had with the story (send me via PM).

How do I get to Lyonell Manor, can't go across bridge or checkpoint, must be missing something here.

Anyway, done.

But can't get the lyonell puzzle done.
I've encountered what i think is a bug. When I switch between Ziggy's crossbow and rifle out of combat, his Agility keeps going down each time until it gets so low that he's unplayable.

Crap, I know what's causing that. Give me 24 hours and I'll have it fixed. When I post the new version, just download it and load your game and it will fix it automatically. Thanks for the heads up.

Wow.. I didn't expect you to respond and get on this so quickly. Mad props to you :)

I have to say, I really love your game.. I'm pushing 31 years old now.. and when I start playing this game.. it makes me feel like I'm 12 or 13 again and sitting down to a game of Final Fantasy VI. It gives me that same feeling of awe and wonder. About the best compliment I can give you is if this game were sitting on a shelf.. I'd pay money to buy a copy.

You can use your save file from any of the previous ones for these versions too, chana. Don't worry.

@Cloakedchaos: Haha, goodness, thank you for such flattering praise. I'm happy that my game instilled such feelings in you. :D

I'll have the new version up here sometime today, so check back soon.

Wow, great! why didn't anybody tell me that before! (joking! why didn't i read carefully enough......!)
Any news on the bug fix? I'd love to get back to playing, but I'm kinda stuck right before the fight with Kenshin.. and I -really- wanna beat him XD
So I finally started to play it... I'm sorry to my english, but even I can see this:
These dialogues are HORRIBLE. They bland, I can barely feel the mood and atmosphere of story reading them, and they too "punk" for me.
Next, they you tell me about CROWD I suppose to see a CROWD - your crowd is bunch of sprites - this is not a CROWD you talking about.
Next, I'm sorry... this people seriously depends on crystal which a greatest weapon they ever heard? How foolish this people of this kingdom I see. Their King can relax then told them anything - they absolutely believe in every nonsense.
And - the odd king, his BADEVIL-looking helper, the Captain is protagonist, the crystals that they must capture and protagonist feels bad about this... why I feel something finalfantasyIVish??? XD

But I like your orange filter :3

What just even read did I?

really!..............
@Dragol : you can barely write any dialogue in english, normal you're Russian, but how, then, can you have such a specific opinion on english dialogues written by an english-speaking person???!!!
Also, after playing the whole demo, that's all you found to say!!!!!!!!!
