Plot Overview

In the world of Linguardia, the nations of Rikalia and Dorent are the reigning powers. Although both leaders have been at peace for centuries, a dark cloud is on the horizon. King Richard, leader of the Rikalian Empire, has recently lost his wife and daughter to a pack of demons. Now, his mind twisted from grief, Richard is on a quest for domination. His plan: to harness the power of the six legendary crystals, which, according to scriptures, will bestow the wielder with unimaginable powers if brought together. With Richard on a path of destruction to collect the crystals, war seems inevitable.

Players take control of Epoch Lander, Captain of Richard's Dragon Knights, an elite force within the Rikalian Empire. However, when Epoch begins questioning the morals behind Richard's actions, he is arrested for treason and sentenced to death. With his head full of unanswered questions, Epoch must decide whether to accept his fate or fight for what he believes to be the greater good: even if it means fighting alone.

Soundtrack Complete!

Jose has just finished the last two songs of the soundtrack, bringing the OST to a grand total of 36 songs. With those final two, the Forever's End soundtrack is now complete! I really have to thank Jose for all the hard work he put into these songs. They all sound fantastic, and I can't wait to release the next episode with them implemented. Great job, bro!

Do know though, there are a few songs that will be included with the game that aren't custom. Not many, but a few, mainly because some of my cutscenes were already built around these songs. However, all of the ones included on this gamepage are the custom ones composed by Jose.

With the soundtrack complete, I thought I'd list out a few of my personal favorites. If you have any favorites, please comment and show Jose some love.

Traveling - Overworld Theme

The Reprieve

Dangerous Wilderness

The Death Knight - Marcellus' Theme

Spiritualization

Journeying Forward

Cutting a Path

In the Heat of Battle - Boss Theme 2

A Dying Planet's Last Breath

Nah, it's alright. Every bug I fix makes the game that much better! ;)

No problem. If you don't mind, I'd love to hear some of your thoughts when you're finished.
I'll let you know when I'm done, though I'll admit that I may be a bit biased because I am a large fan of the SNES style RPG genre.
I cant play the game no matter how many times I download it
Yeah, I dont know what it is everytime I try to open it it says Abode Reader could not open 'Forever's End_7.rar' because it is either not a supported file type or becasue the file has been damaged (fro example it was sent as an email attached and wasn't correctly decoded.)
Well.. I just completed this demo, and so far I love the game.. I probably missed several hidden things.. and I never did manage to beat Kenshin. I'm way too biased to give a formal review.. but there were a few things I can comment on. I really enjoy the scenario choosing and how the characters can jump from one 'party' to another.. With a device like that you could add even more characters (to a point) and have it not become too bloated. (I'd like to see Nel playable XD ) I also like how each character gains abilities in their own ways. The puzzles so far are challenging but not overwhelming.. one of the things I loved about classics such as Lufia II. As far as things that annoyed me.. or that I'd like to see.. Railroading is usually fine in a console-style game, though a little bit of freedom and sidequests would be pretty good.. And I don't know if this is a limitation of the engine.. but.. OMG Inventory clutter.. If you put in a "Sort" button that organizes your inventory, I will mail you a twenty dollar bill.

All in all I was very happy with the game.. only ran into that one bug.. it seems rather polished for a demo.. and I eagerly await the next installment.
@Cloakedchaos: Thanks man. I'm glad you found it so enjoyable. Yeah, sorry about the cluttered inventory. There isn't a sort button, sadly, in 2k3 (although WolfCoder is working on implementing one in 20XX, I hear). When I started this project three years ago, I didn't understand how 2k3 sorted its items, and when I finally figured it out, it was already too late. I can fix it, but it would probably take me months to do because I'd have to rearrange every item and then change every event that uses each item....a total pain in the ass. Hopefully, 20XX will solve that problem in future releases.

As for the linearity, I just ran out of time. It took forever just to make the cutscenes, dungeons, and towns for the main story; by the time I was finished with them, I was burnt. However, the next release should give you much more freedom as Dorent is a big city with a lot to do. Also, once you get your party together, you will be able to do go out and explore other locales that may not be a part of the main story (and be able to return to earlier places). I'll probably go back when I'm nearing the game's completion and add other sidequests that you can do earlier on (which will still be playable if you continue from your old save from this episode).

Anyway, thanks for playing. Check back later this year (or early next year) for Episode 2!
I played this game to the first pseudo-boss, right after I heard some idiot bitch about his airship.

Then the pseudo-boss used a bullshit 9999 Damage attack, so I stopped playing. It was a pretty simple decision, considering I didn't feel like RNG scumming until he didn't use his bullshit 'Pandora's Box'.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. Where are you exactly?
I don't mean to be rude...but lol so many games have bosses that dish out 9999 attacks. Those types of bosses are designed to be unbeatable, well at least until near the end where you fight enemies like that. Though I don't really see what's the big deal...I mean it's a game try not to take it so seriously. ^u^
I must say - music is pretty nice, boss battles are tough and fun, just like in FFIV, Epoch is not completely AlxeMixCecil and plot twists are twists. )
And Richard is douchbag >.<
The chest puzzle in the manor is the most obnoxious thing ever. Especially since there's nothing that tells you whether or not you're supposed to get all of them OPEN or CLOSED.

I saved the game and came back a week later, and had no idea whether or not to get them open or closed.

Otherwise, great work.

Before the puzzle begins, an ominous voice tells you to close Pandora's box. I thought I made it pretty clear. :\

If you're struggling with something like that, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm always glad to help out.

No wonder why Marcellus properly wants to kill him.
