Plot Overview

In the world of Linguardia, the nations of Rikalia and Dorent are the reigning powers. Although both leaders have been at peace for centuries, a dark cloud is on the horizon. King Richard, leader of the Rikalian Empire, has recently lost his wife and daughter to a pack of demons. Now, his mind twisted from grief, Richard is on a quest for domination. His plan: to harness the power of the six legendary crystals, which, according to scriptures, will bestow the wielder with unimaginable powers if brought together. With Richard on a path of destruction to collect the crystals, war seems inevitable.

Players take control of Epoch Lander, Captain of Richard's Dragon Knights, an elite force within the Rikalian Empire. However, when Epoch begins questioning the morals behind Richard's actions, he is arrested for treason and sentenced to death. With his head full of unanswered questions, Epoch must decide whether to accept his fate or fight for what he believes to be the greater good: even if it means fighting alone.

Soundtrack Complete!

Jose has just finished the last two songs of the soundtrack, bringing the OST to a grand total of 36 songs. With those final two, the Forever's End soundtrack is now complete! I really have to thank Jose for all the hard work he put into these songs. They all sound fantastic, and I can't wait to release the next episode with them implemented. Great job, bro!

Do know though, there are a few songs that will be included with the game that aren't custom. Not many, but a few, mainly because some of my cutscenes were already built around these songs. However, all of the ones included on this gamepage are the custom ones composed by Jose.

With the soundtrack complete, I thought I'd list out a few of my personal favorites. If you have any favorites, please comment and show Jose some love.

Traveling - Overworld Theme

The Reprieve

Dangerous Wilderness

The Death Knight - Marcellus' Theme

Spiritualization

Journeying Forward

Cutting a Path

In the Heat of Battle - Boss Theme 2

Hmm no I don't think that's it. What's happening is the menu options (Slash, magic, etc) turn white in color and the surrounding black selection box disappears. So I can't see visually which command I'm on.

I can tell usually by the text on the top of the screen, but two instances when it really is a pain is on the main battle menu, for example sometimes I'm clicking Spirit instead of Item; and when captures fail, I can't try again, because its then impossible to make sure I have the right food type ....

This is happening on both screen modes.
Is it possible to backtrack to previous areas near the end of the game in case I forgot to capture certain monsters?
@lucidrose: Hmm...I'm sorry, I don't really know what that could be. If you could show me a screenshot of when it happens, I might be able to figure it out.

@Bugfragged: Yep! I'll also give you a way to return to the dungeons that inaccessible after the first visit (such as the Sewers and Lyonell Manor).
Ok, so it's getting worse - I just got Seti and any time he uses the Tarot ability it will happen....I really hope there is some way to fix this! I'm really enjoying the game.

Here's a screenshot. Thanks for any help or workaround you could provide!

@NicoB: That's great, since I just found the insanely tough desert spirit. I managed to hold out for about 10000 of his HP until I ran out of items. Hopefully, a full party will be able to handle him.
i'm curious when everyone meets with each other again, will it be on friendly terms or do we have to beat the crap outta each other then join forces??
Well, the most likely scenario is that Lee's group meets Epoch's group in the city. I imagine Lee would not tell the group about the key he is holding, since he has no idea whether or not Epoch is another puppet for Elijir. Still, the two groups might team up to fight Beowulf in case Elijir finds them. As for Elise, her group is still in the desert area and will probably be recruited last.

My mind is full of fuck.

I think Lee will blame Epoch for attacking his grandfather, just like he gets blamed by Elsie, and he feel again that he everyone will betray him or something
Hi, I just wanted to say that I've become really addicted to this game. After a rather slow and somewhat standard beginning Forever's End quickly develops into a captivating narrative with so many fascinating details and interesting subplots that I just have to keep playing. I think that's quite an accomplishment for a game created by only one person.

I don't know whether this is the right place to ask for help but I got stuck in the winter temple where you have to solve the puzzle of turning the statues into the right directions. I know that the solution has something to do with the story mentioned at the begin of the dungeon but I still can't seem to figure it out. Could somebody tell me what I've got to do?
The story mentions that certain people are looking at each other. If Mr. X is looking at Ms. Y in the story, you need to take note of the location of Ms. Y's statue and point Mr. X's statue towards her. I think the king statue has something to do with either the sunrise or sunset.
Excellent demo, had me gripped all the way to the end. Damned cliffhangar makes me want more.

And here's hoping that Epoch and Elise get together. Elizabeth kinda irritates me. Fun character, but I don't think she fits Epoch quite as well as Elise does.

Anyway, any clue when there'll be another update to the game's content? Or maybe even a complete version? I can't wait for it.

Have you fixed the glitch lucidrose spoke of/ I've been waiting to download the newest version, but want to wait until it's stable. If it is, I'll play through- notifying you of any typos :P. Love to talk about possible plot developments later. BTW is this compatible with earlier saves?
Ugh, sorry for the late reply guys.

@lucidrose: I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I tested out the game both in editor and outside of it, using Seti's Tarot Cards and playing through normally, but I never had that problem happen. This is the first time I've heard of this happening to someone. Maybe you're missing some file or something? Check the System folder and make sure you have zephysystem, zephysystem2, and zephysystemblank. I'm not sure how you'd be missing any files though (I know for a fact that those files should be there when you download it).

@Jascarell: Thanks man. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it! :D As for an update, I'm working on a video now which will show off some new content. I should be posting it some time soon.

@BurningTyger: As far as I know, BT, this is the only instance of this bug ever happening to someone (at least the only one I've heard of). I think for most people, it's been working just fine (aside from a few things mentioned before). As for earlier save files, if you're referring to the demo I released before this one, then I'm afraid not. This will be the last time though that saves aren't compatible with previous versions. There should be enough new content for you to keep things fresh, I think.
Thanks for the reply, Nico. I checked and I have all those files.

I am playing on an older laptop, I'm wondering if this is why. Do you think redownloading the game could help or does anyone know some general tips for 2k3 issues.....

Well, my laptop is probably 7 years old and it still runs fine. I'm really not sure what the problem is. Like I said, I've never heard of this problem happening before to anyone (a number of other things, but not this one).

You could try redownloading and see if that helps. Perhaps something happeneded and the download got disrupted part way through or something. Just make sure you hold on to the save file from the previous one (just copy and paste into the game folder; the file should say something like Save01). Another thing you may want to check is that you have the full 2003 RTP downloaded to your computer. I have the full version in my locker here:

Thank you Nico - I tried redownloading the RTP as well as the game and continue to have this error. I'm assuming the RTP doesn't need to be located anywhere special as long it is on the PC?

At some point I am going to try to play this on my desktop which is fairly new, to see if I can play without this annoying issue...

Is Episode two is up?

Nope.

Yeah, I don't think the RTP needs to be anywhere specific (I keep mine in my Program Files, so you could try that I suppose).

I'm really sorry this has been a problem for you, and I commend you for sticking with the game for so long. I hate when stupid bugs like this occur (i.e. bugs that are only happen to one person and are more of a problem with the 2k3 system than my own game). Please let me know if playing it on your newer desktop helps at all.
I just need to affirm that I am still very much looking forward to the continuation of this game.
