RMN ROCK BAND THREAD OF THROWING UP THE HORNS AND ROCKING THE FUCK OUT

I'm barely decent on drums (can do Hard for most songs) but I could probably play Bass on any level (can Guitar 'most' things on Hard.)

I'd be up for either of those slots assuming I wouldn't hold anyone up. :)

Paranor is the Druid's Keep in the Shannara series. Perhaps it's just random luck, but a lot of this reminds me of the world maps for that series. :)

Cast Aside

Ah, sorry for the late replies, I can't tell when my game pages are updated easily like with RMN2 (I'm not used to many comments either!)

@Town Destroyer: Thank you, we've spent a lot of time polishing almost everything we touch with it, that costs a lot of extra time but we're getting used to it. :)

@yoyo: Wow, I see there's a pretty big thread about it, do you have any suggestions about what part of the battle system are most unpleasant or annoying? I know it's a bit confusing at first, I start with a 'sandbox' approach letting the player play around in situations where it's hard for them to die (the difficulty for the second and third fight have been dropped a lot in the current working copy.)

Which version?

Scripting scares away a lot of the people who think 'programming' is some magical thing that's really hard and only nerds can do it after years of practice and classes.

They're also comfortable with 2K/3 and also have a large base of resources and rips to use for it.

Script isn't really any tougher than event coding, it's just there already and takes a little practice to use/learn, many of the developers here could pick it up pretty quickly if there were some decent tutorials or if they had someone to ask questions of, but it comes down to the same 'path of least resistant' that guides player in games. :)

Actually I'm sad that people are overlooking XP these days with VX released; although VX has higher quality graphics (not better mind you!), it's harder to work with due to it's severe limitations.

XP is probably the most powerful of their makes so far and it's sad that it's middle-ware nature doesn't bring appreciation from the newer crowds or look like a viable upgrade to some of the earlier developers. Many complaints about VX are the blocky nature and the limitations to chipsets, but XP has support for unlimited size and number of chipsets and the equal or better map editor of every other RM version.

Action RPGs

Zelda has invisible stats. You know how much 'damage' you do in relation to enemies, and how much Health you have. Enemies do a set amount of damage (1/2 heart, 1 heart, etc) which equates to their attack power.

Your sword usually does more damage as it's upgraded; 1, 2, and 3, with the "shot" being 1 damage at all times.

You have a magic meter which depletes and is refilled, etc. You have a limited carrying capacity for most weapons that you can increase over time as well.

I'd say Zelda has plenty of stats, they just aren't all "Strength" and "Agility" like most other RPGs, and aren't listed in a stat-page, instead they're ones you see or know through play, much better than you know the STR stat for your characters in a standard RPG. :)

I'd consider an "Action" RPG just be one that isn't turn-based. I would still consider ATB to be turn-based, heck it is usually called "Active Turn Battle."

Hi everyone, I'm new, sorry I didn't do this earlier.

Wow, hi, didn't see this topic. :) Thanks for playing my stuff!

Also; wolves are easily the most dignified and noble of animals, and easily my favorite.

Any real time combat RPGs? (NOT turnbased)

Yeah, but when we could submit videos we'd get Maker score for it. :)

Any real time combat RPGs? (NOT turnbased)

Go to Games, and set Genre to Action RPG and Status Completed.

Check the screenshots to see how actiony they are.

<Okay, ignore my link, because it doesn't work>

Also, yes, some are still turn-based, the screenshots should give you a good feel for how much. I miss the "Videos" feature since I used to attach videos so people had a better idea than what screens give.

That's the normal Mr. Saturn font.

Master of the Wind Review

Can you "mention out" things?

Regardless I thought it was a comic-booky looking font. Reminded me of the X-Men comics I used to read. I'm not sure why it has a name like "Anime-Ace," especially since, as visual shows, animes don't usually HAVE a font related to them. (Except for subbed versions, which use any range of retarded fonts.)

Besides, it's more about how it looks and less about name, isn't it?

And why can't someone use a hybrid style? Try something new; even if some or most people don't like it you tried, it's like World of Warcraft, it's easy to hate it and make fun of it (with many good reasons too!), but you can't argue with success because it means they hit SOMETHING people like.

You use creativity to overcome limitations in the amateur field; you find ways to use what resources you have more effectively, you find ways to work around lacks in certain departments like the ability to program (or lack of 500+ hours) by using an editor like RPG Maker, etc.
