I had to "Old Yeller" my old laptop, a laptop that has given me a decade of entertainment, became the ultimate retro console thanks to emulators, and has allowed me to pursue my dream of being a game designer with both RPG Maker & SMBX. I don't think I used the lockbox though. I was actually gonna replay this again but I keep getting an error when I try to enter the tutorial level:

Edit: The problem mysteriously disappeared after turning off my User Account Control settings, because when I tried to download a new copy it said I didn't have permission to save where I wanted it too.

Haha, I don't think I'd consider it a nerf, really. None of the other characters can even use the platforms, and it was only barely possible for Link without them. I should know, because I beat it that way.

Lots of these bosses are easier to fight as Link, but the challenge for playing as him is...playing as him. He has a tougher time with the platforming, so the easier fight is the reward for clearing the stage the harder way. Theoretically.

Actually, some stages are easier if you play as Link. I remember Fleetfoot Falls was ridiculously easy because Link can downstab across spiked floors & take advantage of a shortcut in that level.
