ANIMEBRYAN'S PROFILE

I had to "Old Yeller" my old laptop, a laptop that has given me a decade of entertainment, became the ultimate retro console thanks to emulators, and has allowed me to pursue my dream of being a game designer with both RPG Maker & SMBX. Now, ALL of that work, is gone. This is not how my 40th birthday should be. I am dead inside now. I just don't give a shit about anything anymore ;_;

Is it worth upgrading to Windows 10?
It's A Trap! No, seriously, Microsoft is just as bad as the NSA at this point. Windows 10 is designed to extract as much info about your computer & everything in it as possible. Here are some articles about it:

I recommend Super RMN World for anyone who wants a more Mario-like game, or Metal Gear Solid: Lunacy of Legion if you want a more Zelda-like game.
Wow, I never knew such a game existed. Thanks for mentioning it!

author=luciusDexterIt's set to come out around December. Cool thing is, we don't have to wait between the initial Japanese release & English release! It's getting an International release worldwide simultaneously! I'm not sure how much it'll cost though. But since the scripting is changing to javascript, that means scripts will exist as 'Plug-ins', which are suppose to be more user friendly. Actually, here's the page that previews some of the new features: http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/products/programs/rpg-maker-mv
That's good news, Animebryan!
Actually I know Javascript very well. I am looking forward to an english version of RPG Maker MV. It is very promising. When will it appear?

author=LockeZI got my hands on a free program called EZ Vid. But I don't have a mic (besides the mic hole in my laptop, which sucks). I think I'll wait til next month to see if I can get a headset w/mic & I'll do one then.
Lol, there are so many free recording programs that can handle fullscreen, why would you use an "almost freeish" one that can't?
Here's a topic with a bunch of suggestions: http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/9768/
Edit: I just beat the game yesterday. When I get a headset with a mic I'll do a 2nd playthrough as a LP (a more experienced LP)

author=Isrieriauthor=AnimebryanOBS : Open Broadcasting Softwareauthor=LockeZChoice of engine? You mean there's another engine that could produce a Zelda 2 Fan-game?
Well, we did have control over which engine to use. Or, at least, Kentona did, since the initial concept was his idea. So hey, we know exactly who to blame!
I agree this game won't really hit the g-spot for a lot of Zelda fans, especially the ones who really liked the RPG aspects of Zelda 2. But hopefully the idea of a Zelda side-stabbing platformer that plays halfway like a Mario game is a unique enough concept to be fun for some audiences!
Also, I plan on playing this soon & will do a review as well (Detailed review of either every level or just the highlights) I would also like to do a Let's Play if only I knew where to get a FREE video & audio recording program to do it with. (I also don't have a mic to record my voice with so I don't know if I could provide a commentary to go with it)
OR
Audacity + Movie Maker
It trolled me with an error

I tried to download DirectX 10 & it said that I already had a equivalent or superior version (DirectX 11 I believe). Looks like I won't be doing an LP unfortunately.

I'll get started on playing this soon & do a review, hopefully a LP too if I can find a FREE program to record with. (I don't have a mic though)
Edit: Oh lovely! Nobody mentioned that this uses a separate version of SMBX itself (like what Super Talking Time Bros. did).
Edit2: Nope, no LP from me (stupid OBS complaining about GPU & DX10)

Just a heads up. The new RPG Maker MV won't be supporting the RGSS Ruby scripting anymore & will be switching to Javascript. Anyone who wants to jump on that bandwagon early will probably give up on Ruby & start learning javascript.

The same Waluigi errors that pop up when any SMBX game starts. "Your browser is outdated and can't support this page." "An error has occured on this page: Object doesn't support this property or method line 27 char 1. Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" And then even if you click no it shows the same error several more times.
It happens because when SMBX first starts, it tries to load a website which, in 2011, was the official Mario website. Except that website longer exists. So it redirects you to a new website that requires Javascript, but SMBX doesn't know what Javascript is, and it explodes.
So I hacked it to make it load our game profile instead.
When I open it it loads a splash screen from supermariobrosx.org
http://www.supermariobrosx.org/splash/##/
No error or program's head exploding here.

We're actually done with the game, and we've just been polishing it up and arguing about the difficulty. We've also been doing weird crap like this to make it feel like marginally less of a hack job:
The deluge of error messages that are usually the first thing to greet a player upon opening any SMBX game are a TERRIBLE first impression, especially for a player who's never heard of SMBX. Many would just close the game at that point, thinking it doesn't work. So, we fixed it.
What kind of errors popped up when starting?
