BEN_RANDOM'S PROFILE

I'm Ben_Random. I've been around since 2008 but I didn't really get active here since Super RMN Bros. 2. That, an unfinished game, and a couple of contests sums up what I've done with game making on this site. I find that my main purpose here is writing. I have a few tutorials out there, as well as some reviews on Mario fan games such as RMN Bros. or Mario V.S. the Moon Base.

Now with the internet the way it is these days, you can probably use just this information to stalk me.

Logo Advice

thanks. As I said earlier I am gonna make a new logo and website, although HTML is kind of getting to my head (I have been doing a lot of it lately) I am gonna take a two week hiatus from html and CSS. I wil still work on the logo though, and be floating around RMN.

I suggest getting rid of the numerous links and have more information there on the website. For example, instead of linking to the game's gamepage, have some instant information there avaliable. The game's summary or a list of features would work and then a link to the gamepage.

Will do, I'm working on a better design that I will be able to manipulate in CSS easier. It should be done by tomorrow if not today.

It's simple but it fits. I think it looks nice, especially with the simplicity of the website's layout.

Thank you, all of you, your feedback is very much appreciated.

So, while I'm at it, what do you think the website needs?

Upcoming RMN Updates (01/24/2011)

Finally. Peace in the Real Men Network.

It is quite simple, but I think that's the point. With such a simple layout of the website, anything too fancy would look out of place.
So, I think it's nice, for what you're going for.

Although I agree with Shortstar with the name, "Randomly Produced Games" sounds better.
Something about Randomized Production Games, doesn't roll off the tongue.

But! You didn't ask for advice on the name, so that's really up to you. :]

Thanks. I'll discuss that idea with PL_Random before I make any final decisions. But I do like that idea.

Its too simple. You might want Randomly Produced Games.

It's not meant to be super fantastic, although it could use a little something to jazz it up. How do you think it looks with the website.

Logo Advice

Me and PL_Random often make games together, so we have decided to start a group called Randomized Productions. Here is the logo I have made:

Feedback would be great. :-)

I also have a website that I'm working on:

There is a screenshot, what do ya thinks?"

A cutscean WITHOUT the main character in it

I'm not sure if this applies to 2k3, but you can set your character to 'no graphic' so they don't appear on screen (but are still present).

Or you maybe able to set your character to 100% transparency, but I've never used 2k3, so I dunno if the transparency thing applies either.

Eventing is my specialty, I know that'll work.

Looking for Additional Help

author=Somaru
I`ve realized that my vision for this game is too ambitious for me to achieve on my own, and have finally sucked it up to admit that I need help. Anyone who is interested should let me know. I want to let any possible interested parties that I am more the planning type when it comes to these things. I simply do not have the patience or technical expertise to totally program a game like this on my own. Sure, I can come up with the story as well as how I want the characters to look, as well as the type of skills they have, etc etc. Hell, I can even draw them! I am also a music afficianado, and focus a lot on that in the game, sometimes too much...
Anyway, here is what I need:
1. those who can make excellently detailed maps.
2. those who have the patience and skill to program events based on descriptions and dialogue that I write up beforehand.
3. those who can program battle skill animations in a convincing manner.
4. A custom menu screen (I just want one...)
5. Title screen.
6. Those who know how to work the 2k3 interface in ways that I have no idea how to do.
7. Custom sprite maker able to work off real drawing (not needed, but it will be a nice touch.)

There is a lot of work to do to make this game what I truly want it to be, and I need as much help as possible. Thank you for any support that you can offer.

-a direct quote from the blog of the game,
http://rpgmaker.net/games/1909/ <The link. I figured that people would actually have the initiative to just type the game name in, not complain about my laziness when you guys are being lazy too. Sorry, it's just stuff like that bugs me.

I'm almost always busy, I'll give the Title Screen a shot, and if I find time, will event it for you. (Credit is wanted) So what do you want the title screen to include?

I'm tinkering with the CSS so I apologize for the red font color LOL, I changed it back and I think I'm going to leave as is for now.

As for the links to those scripts, I use VX not XP, and I believe you're using XP correct?

Here is the link to XP's version of a Pretitle/Splash screen script: http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/22121/t1145992-kain-nobel-splash-script/

I couldn't immediately find a script for XP about Full Screen/Windowed Toggle, so you'll have to google it and really look. If you want them for VX, I definitely got those. :)

*Edit* For VX, here is the link to the Fullscreen toggle - http://rmrk.net/index.php?topic=39459.0

Here is the pretitle script for VX as well: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=32140

There ya go. ^.^

I'm using VX. Thanks though. I really do appreciate your help. I'm playing this game, it looks great so far.
