BEN_RANDOM'S PROFILE
Ben_Random
1019
I'm Ben_Random. I've been around since 2008 but I didn't really get active here since Super RMN Bros. 2. That, an unfinished game, and a couple of contests sums up what I've done with game making on this site. I find that my main purpose here is writing. I have a few tutorials out there, as well as some reviews on Mario fan games such as RMN Bros. or Mario V.S. the Moon Base.
Now with the internet the way it is these days, you can probably use just this information to stalk me.

The assortment of misfits is the part I'm looking forward to most! :D
Sounds like they are all interesting characters.
I can't wait for the banter between the pirate and the knight!
Me to. Subscribing.

author=Corfaisusauthor=KaempferI checked on this shortly before writing my usual solution, and it seems that's just one more thing Enterbrain decided not to include in VX.
Can't you set tile movement direction in RMVX?
One more of many.

I'll take this into consideration! I was thinking of having the player journey into a separate area to fight a very powerful enemy to obtain a key, scroll, etc. in order to reach the last room that would contain the treasure. I definitely like putting emphasis on exploration and there will definitely be some.
In VX there are event graphics which have multi-colored glowing orbs. You should make three temples across the world. One for each orb. These orbs are required to unlock the treasure. You should make the other orbs optional, giving the player different ability's which will aid him on his quest.
Also, a good sequel title:
"The Treasure of Flengade 2, The Curse of Flengade." {The titles pretty self-explanitory.}

Lets not relive those memories guys... I still have nightmares about it.
After I played catacombs I couldn't sleep for weeks. That's why I started reading the new thread, "Is coffee really the only way?" (JK) =)
How to make your game downloadable
WinRar. That's the answer.
It provides a professional looking installation screen and all that jazz. It's free too.
Read this. You will be flabbergasted.

(Nothing wrong with being new, I was new just a while ago. Asking questions is great, but don't make a fool out of yourself by saying: "So, I wanna make a game. Could someone do it for me? I want one of the guys name to be Bill. And he has a hat.")

Two minor suggestions I'd really like to see.
Online connections
I am planning on making a multiplayer, not an MMO or anything. Just a game where someone could call their friend and say, "I am going to play X game, want to join?" Then the other person would get on the game and have some nerdy RPG fun. Is there a script for that?
is coffee really the only way?
I find a lot of energy drinks make you crash. Try a nice warm breakfast. Like apple cider or something.

This looks great! I liked the video you have, especially the animations near the end.
Thanks. Don't forget, If you hit the "Subscribe" button, you will be notified whenever updates or information are released for the game.

author=Ravenite1author=Ben_RandomI always found good music at ultima island
Does anyone have any recommendations for music? I am looking for some that's a little electronic, but not to loud or annoying. It's going to go in "The Mother Board", where the player spends most of his//her time, so I don't want it to be bad.
http://uirpg.com/
But for some reason it's not working at the moment...
In the mean time you should go here it has music from anime and games so there is a WHOLE LOT to choose from.

*edit*
When you go to that site you should start off by searching for games that might have music you're looking for, mainly from other rpgs such as Suikoden, Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem etc.
Hope this helped.
Thanks Ravenite.
