The shadows seem fine to me if you consider the light sources, though I would maybe suggest making the ones that are a bit further away have less opacity. Light effects could also be much better. The glow would probably be much larger and have MUCH less opacity. You could use rpg maker's picture system's "add" type to make them look brighter rather than just solid blue and yellow.

Here's a quick edit I made to show how you might be able to do light effects a bit better. Keep in mind I didn't do the shadow thing (and failed to remove the lamp's default glow). I would have personally kept shadows a bit blurrier and softer too, but there's nothing particularly wrong with them from the looks of it.

Shadows still seem messed up to me. Mainly the chairs, they were the first things I noticed, followed by the table shadow itself and then the little stand beside the counter up top.

I'm not sure what exactly it is though... but I think it's the shapes, not the angle. Even when comparing the off-set of the chair shadows, to how the table shadow is not offset anywhere near as much. Same as the little end table beside the counter. The flat part of the table is angled, but the countertop shadow isn't.

As I wrote, I think it's just the shapes "Mainly" and the angles being secondary.

And I'm still not even totally sure of what I just wrote above. Haha. All I know "for sure" is that it looks off to me. Almost surreal. Can't say 100% what it is or is not. Just awkward looking... is the best way I can describe it.

But aside from that, everything looks pretty good and makes sense.

Ugh. This is why I am avoiding "shadows" in my project right now. lol

@CircleDrain - I like it. The only thing that's throwing me off is that the shadows are all going in different directions. Is that on purpose?

@Kaempfer - Thanks for commenting. As for the mine, it's supposed to be dug down from the main ground. Like they dug a hole. I know it doesn't quite look right but for the life of me, can't figure out how to do it. I haven't done much shading of anything yet... but hope to. Haha.

So, in the meantime, I've just been plugging on - and come back to re-edit the tileset and ad to it here and there. Any suggestions would be great.

A screenshot of the latest project I've been picking away at.
I'd forgotten how time consuming this all was. Haha.

I found some old Photobucket pics of one of my first games. From 2007 or 2008... or something like that.

A lifetime ago it seems.
You're the one who made Lurking Underlife? That expeditioners' photograph still haunts me.

I did. Haha.
That picture 'gag' still scares me as well. LOL
Always wished I'd finished that series of games - now I can't even find it anymore. Time marches on. :)

Goaling It 2019

Damn. It's great to see so many posters and so many goals for 2019.
I don't need to say it - but regarding 2018 regrets, you guys shouldn't sweat it so much. Life gets busy and I've always felt there's no need to apologize if things slip through the cracks.

If something is left unfinished, or maybe not attended to enough it just means the timing wasn't right. Things come up. Haha.

As for me?

Goals: Create my first RMMV game. Finish some personal projects I've had on the go for a few years now, and be more active and helpful all around... and that also includes learning so that I can help with things. Haha.

Regrets for 2018? Only 1 major one - and that's not being able to quit smoking.

Motto 2019? Aspire to create. Create to inspire.

Scythuz's Pixel Shop

There are a lot. I'll get back to you shortly, when I'm closer to needing them and we can talk bulk pricing. :)

Scythuz's Pixel Shop

Here's one. Supposed to be a coal miner from the 1930s. This is the clean, before getting dirty version. Haha.

Scythuz's Pixel Shop

Some good work. What do you think would be a "ballpark" charge for shading sprites?

I'm horrible at shading... so have been creating sprites with none. My intention is to get them all shaded when the time comes.
