The contrast change I suggest actually isn't that gaudy or drastic, imo. I might say the dominating amount of bright green is probably what's turning you off. Compare with a commercial palette.
I would make the grass more of a recessive colour or hue and style than that in the trees. I think the texture detracts from the detail of the features he would want to emphasize like trees, rocks, paths.

I think its a bit better now... Still don't quite like the tree itself, but the coloring is nice.
Not enough contrast. Try this:
Or something with a lower general saturation in your greens.
Typically, your scale from light to dark should cover a good range of brightness. Your first palette is fairly blah because you're not really using darker darks and brighter brights.

Otherwise, if you haven't seen "The Crow" with Brandon Lee then what are you waiting for!? lol
Because it was awful. It's a decent-looking movie but with really sub-par acting, a really flimsy plot and it had dialogue that made me throw up in my mouth a bit a couple of times. It reminded me of every "woe is me my life is blackness" wierdo I knew in high school and it was written as though they all got together and decided to make a movie.

What are you thinking about right now?
Should I ditch the "CAST" and "ITEM" commands in favor of one, unified "CARD" command that lets you use either magic or items? In the game, both are consumables so I am thinking that might be the way to go.
EDIT: God damn Midgar Zolom. Trying to get the better of it at lvl 15 and having no luck... yet.

Japanese RPG Game: suggestions
I like that there are 17 year old Japanese people who sit in their rooms and use RPG Maker all day just like I used to.
