Midsummer - RMN Community Project
Sign me up- and Rei, recasting ourselves as sprites, hobgoblins et cetera, would be creative. Don;t you like adventure, hon? :P
OK, mixing some of the ideas together, here's what we've got:
A young man on a Caribbean vacation, seeking shelter from a storm, wanders into a resort, where he finds a wild party in progress. HE is warmly welcomed by the party's hosts, a chic young couple named Ron and Tina, and their yappy lap dog Robin- the latter tags along after him the whole evening.. Though warned by one of the guests not to eat or drink anything and to leave before sunrise, he drinks a glass of wine to ease his thirst and ends up falling asleep in one of the hotel rooms. In the morning he awakens to find himself in an unfamiliar place filled with strange people. Informed he is in "the land of the Ferrish," he is taken to the king and queen, whom, to his shock, he recognizes from last night's party-in truth a fairy revel- and discovers he has been trapped here by drinking the fairy wine. As he begs TRH to release him from the spell, he is interrupted by a guard, who arrives to inform the queen that one of her courtiers appears to have been horribly murdered. Though suspicion falls on our hero, he is cleared by a surprising witness- Robin, who is not what he seems. Robin convinces the King and Queen to let our hero go- if he can solve the murder...
Some of us can appear as NPCs or Members of the Fairy court, while others appear as members of the Unseelie who attempt to stymie the investigation. Sound good?
Note the fairies here are human sized, like the Tuatha De Danaan, even in their true form, which should make things easier...

Game Gale 2010
I know I marked "2k3 but I'm guessing my game may well actually be in 2k As it may wel be easeri to gatrher resources that way. NO problm, I hope.
Game Gale 2010
It's a bit late to start, but I'm going to try. I'm not certain if I'll have the game done in time, but if not I'll drop out.
Gonna be tough, especially with no rips or soundtrack downloads allowed, but I think I cna find some "Free use" items.

A way to differentiate reviews whether it's for the demo or the full game?
Yes, or mark the reviews demo, completed, etc.The reviewer should type this in however. As you said you may need to redo the way things are set up to reflect the reality of circumstances- form follows function. Of Even if you decide to limit reviews to only full games people will still submit demos for feedback..Reviews are one type of feedback That shouldn't be retroactive, BTW, especially with ABL 2.1. Honestly, if demos are being reviewed too then mark that. In a way it sort of gives a history of the development process to be able to read reviews at different stages. Not every stage needs a review though- there may be a great deal of difference between versions 1.0 and 2.0 , and possibly an appreciable difference between 2.5 and 3, but no point in bothering between 1 and 1.3 for example.
Carlsev Saga: Episode II
Forever's End
I guess my comparing Lee to a Blue MAge is incorrect, as Blue MAges learn by being TARGETED by attacks, thus randomness is a good balance there.
I like the last idea- you can draw as many skills as you like but you only have space for a limited number of skills in battle. That'll bring strategy into the mix, as you may need to scope out the weaknesses of creatures in an area, then equip skills they're weak against. The question is whether Lee can swap skills at any time or if he can only do it at save points... I'd prefer yo allow healing skills to be used in the field regardless.

Monstrous Wars
Of course- but Joy2key doesn't seem to map the number keys effectively, that's all.. . Do you know if Xpadder does a better job? BTW, I sent you a PM with the typos fixed in the last scene and some suggestions.
Forever's End
Hey Nico, this is Terrorantula - I didn't think to share the name across sites. Glad you're proceeding with the work. Disappointed you've decided to put a skill limit on Lee-- I don't approve at all..Since Lee's physical strenght is low he's going to need magical strength to balance it out. I can understand your concern about Lee's possibly becoming too powerful , but i don't think the 5-skill limit is the best way to do it.
Instead of the skill limit, I suggest the following.:
1. In general, have stronger skills cost more AP, thus effectively limiting the number of times they can be cast.
2. Give drawing a miss chance, and have that be higher with some abilities than others. (Have some skills be harder to draw than others.) In-game this might be explained as the skill having, say, complex, exacting hand gestures that are hard to copy correctly. Some skills might have a higher miss chance when cast, too, thus making them a risky gamble in some situations.
3 Have some skills be rarer than others, or even only available from a single boss. If a player wants to fill out their skill list, it should take work and effort. That is, after all, how Square-Enix handles its Blue Mages- tracking down every skill possible is a quest in itself, and not an easy one.

Maybe we can represent the forums as a fairy village (it's said fairies dance on Midsummer Eve) and our hero is an elf or hobgoblin in charge of preparing the festivities, whether it's herbs, well water, bonfires, o muy guapo hombres y chicas. However, the Antagonists /Unseelie court attempt to thwart our heroes at each step of the way, requiring him or her to work through battles and quests as they attempt to get the materials and set up the party before midnight.
