author=NeverSilentI'll shut my mouth and open my program to continue work on the map.
Okay, serious reply now. Normally, I would strongly object to the idea that the story in a game is unimportant - but I think that in this case, we can all agree that plot was never the central focus of Wyrm Warriors to begin with. The one and only thing that is important right now is to actually get some more of the game (and by that I mean gameplay and progression) done. It's totally cool to dream about what we could all add to make the game even better or more interesting, but none of that is any good if there is not even a game to begin with. Let's get done what we really need first before we worry about what we could maybe do as well.
As for you, BurningTyger, you constantly keep trying to completely reshape the entire project to fit your own vision (even though the concept had been decided on long ago by Craze, unity and the community). At the same time, you've hardly contributed anything substantial. Your enthusiasm is appreciated, but please either put all that energy into something that actually helps the project (for example your which maps you still haven't finished) or refrain from messing with the project altogether if you can't control yourself.
You do not have to respond to this post.
I hope we can stop wasting our energy on nonsensical, destructive arguments now and get Wyrm Warriors going again as a team. CashmereCat, you've made a good start, and I'll make sure to contact you soon to discuss some puzzle ideas. Thanks a lot!

author=unityOK.. But i am sorry; I certainly never meant to distress you...author=BurningTygerDon't worry. What's done is done, and it's all in the past. I'm moving on.
Look, I seme to be making things owrseauthor=CashmereCatThis entire conversation is half-baked and i should not have cooked it up.*worries he may have doomed the project*author=SoozIn a discussion, no- in a screwball comedy, maybe.Excus eme if i wasn't celare how far the meaphop went. OK guysauthor=SoozIn a porno, no- in a mystery, maybe.
Also generally nobody cares WHY the lady ordered pizza without any cash on hand.
We were literally talking about it being a porno thing. Do you respond to discussions about where to go for lunch with, "Well, we could get a Hardee's sausage biscuit if it were breakfast"?
By the way, who ordered the Bacon'n'egg MacGuffin? Sides: medium-sized fried back story and plot twist for the drink. Any takers?
For some reason this song pops into my head....

^ And that gam mak journey had burnt out our second veteran developer. Forgive me for being a little skeptical.
LOL dude you realise I'm a lot more aware of the cause of that second burnout, right? The lack of extensive character junk was not the issue.
author=LockeZSee, I'd consider FFVI a novel... but not all tales are novels.
The story in a video game is like the story in a porno. You can put one in if you want, but it's not important, and we certainly don't expect it to be any good.

Yes, including on the original NES, though I don't believe I managed to get very far until replaying it in Origins. I'd been referring to 4 onwards, but point taken. :P

author=SoozTrue; I guess as a player of many JRPGS I'm sometimes a bit too focused on story. Not every game needs to rival a Final Fantasy for plot...
There does not need to be a reason beyond maguffins. "Thing there, go get," has been a tried and true videro game plot for decades.

True, though following Unity's suggested plans here would not be a bad idea; I only meant, "maybe there's something in the info we can use to help drive the party between points, so we don't have to rely so much on MacGuffins..."

author=LibertyPretty sure that's me... :( Anyway, not meaning to create more work no, we don't need that. However, I noted that the FFIII remake is said to have used its characters' back stories to "Accelerate the plot". In a way we've been using bits of character back story to help us figure out where they go: Hitori, who hails from another dimension, was planned to appear in the Quartz Quarry, while Blaize, who uses fire, was to appear on Mount Arazia, possibly there in an attempt to conquer his fears of said element. Similarly, having Blaize in the pary might encourage fellow Fire-user Weylan to join, or Weylan might join the party to rescue his acquaintance Blaize from Arazia before it erupts.
Or not and leave it as it was supposed to be so that interfering fingers don't. :/
The person who caused the stress was probably the one who sent a shit ton of PMs to her over a very short period. They know who they are.
