RPG VX Ace NPC Moving help

Are you doing that to hide the player during the cutscene? If so I suggest you make a new party member which is completely blank with no sprite or anything. You could set its name to "Cutscene Watcher" or something so you don't accidentally delete or override it. In the database, set that party member to be your beginning hero. When the cinematic sequence ends, add your real hero to the party and remove the spriteless hero.

What do you collect RMN?

Whenever I'd go to the beach, I'd actively seek out fossils and nice rocks to take home. I've since realised that it's a buggeringly heavy collection to keep so I stopped..

That's because when you speak to him, he technically turns to face you. If you click "direction fix" in the event's details, then he'll no longer turn around to face the hero but he'll still talk.

He disappears? Huh.. that's weird.

As for making him stay in place after he moves, you could make him move to the left and then activate a switch called "1: Guard Moved" or something. Then on an event to the left of the original guard (where the guard should now be standing) make another event which only appears after "1: Guard Moved" is activated which is a sprite of the guard now facing down, as if he had moved. Then on the original guard event, make a new page that makes it disappear after "1: Guard Moved" is activated.

I'm sure there's an easier way around this, but this is the most basic way I can think of. I'd like to see how other people might do this..

Gay Characters

that would just be terrible writing. you can't just have the characters come out and say exactly what they're thinking all the time. show don't tell applies to everything, not just story writing.

Beelzebot, The Robot Devil: "Your lyrics lack subtlety! You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!"

Battling in games, but.. why?

AC was okay for what it was, I just felt it was a bit of a cop-out. I never really considered Spirits Within to be part of the FF universe either, but I've seen worse. I mean, I sat through Kung Fu Panda 2 the other day. Does it get much worse? :P

As for everything past FF10: I dunno, I got FF13 somewhere (only bought it because it was 'buy one get one free' and my boyfriend wanted Sakura Wars) and I started to play it a while ago, but the battle system annoyed me so much/Skyrim came along. I really ought to resume playing it at some point.. I used to think it was total arse, but I think I'll give it a chance (mainly for the battle theme). From what I played, Lightning was pretty much a pink-haired Cloud.

I wouldn't say it's very important and no one's gonna tear your head off for deciding you don't want to risk using a semicolon, or if you feel more comfortable with a comma. Like I said, hardly anyone uses it anymore. It just looks a bit more impressive in writing if you're confident in using it. :]

The main rule is to remember to consider your reader's lung capacity and no one will complain about it (hopefully). And yes, I agree - English has the worst grammar in the world. ^^
