I post, play, review, and am hoping to get a game finished one of these days. If you need a tester, feel free to message me!

Bi-Weekly Update #42

Neat to see the focus on polishing these aspects of the game: it helps breathe life into game worlds when developers do such things!

Bi-Weekly Update #35

Neato! I admire the way this project is consistently updated.

Just Do It! - Anti-Procrastination Initiative

That scary force that we call 'real life' took up my time today, so I didn't manage to get to my goal. Aw well (will do it regardless, so that's still worthwhile.)

Mission Complete: I reviewed Cootie Patootie (how's that for a title?):

There's a new build of the game I've been play testing, so I'm going to get to that next (I suppose that's more of an extension of a previous goal than a new one.)

I'm also going to do a review for my next (probably last) goal, since making a tune and testing a game are now out of the way. If time allows, I'll try to make it two reviews, like I did earlier on.

I made a brief, kinda-sorta-NES-style MIDI loop, so that technically meets my goal, anyway!

So, for my next goal, I want to write a composition for a game. It'll probably be a short little ditty, maybe something like a field or town music. I'm thinking I'll write it in TuxGuitar and then try converting it using GXSCC and seeing if it's more interesting 'retro' style or not.

Mission accomplished: just sent in my playtesting report. Hurrah!

Star Isis

There is certainly some potential: I like the concept of a disguise system, in particular.

I noticed a logical error (the mysterious individual was waiting to meet with me downstairs even though I hadn't arranged it.) Also, I kept getting wiped out in the random encounter battles north of town, even after I upgraded my equipment to the best stuff the shop had.

I think the game could be molded into an enjoyable full-length, with continued polishing and fleshing out of things. The Star Trekian aspects (visiting planets, political/military angles, having to hide) appeal to me. There's some work to be done, but that's game development in principle.

Just Do It! - Anti-Procrastination Initiative

I'm going to abandon the let's play goal, because my recording software lost half of what I recorded, and also because it appears to think that I'm out of disk space even though I'm not.

No big whoop, because I know what my next (achievable) goal will be: I agreed to play test a game, and I already have it downloaded/installed, so I'm going to do that instead.
