What are you thinking about right now?
Two things that I swore in my childhood that I would never buy again: Those plastic army men with the parachutes tied to them and whoopee cushions.
First, the army men. So you untie the parachute, throw them into the air and watch them drift down. That's great and all but... that's all she wrote. I think I'll just stick with my legos, thank you. Second, those damned whoopee cushions. In my youth I didn't realize how they worked. Apparently you're supposed to actually open it somehow before sitting on it. I didn't do this. I sat on it and the thing exploded in the most heart-breakingly sad sound ever. I stand up and look down at it, a large tear split through the surface. I threw it in the trash.

Another one I killed off in a plot twist after we stopped being friends in real life.
This in itself is pretty unsettling.
cutscenes
I'm surprised that people are having trouble with cutscenes. If you've got the timing down right with the movement and are using RMText to make sure that your dialogue doesn't go outside the box, then it should be a piece of cake if you already know what you want for the cutscene to be.
I mention RMText because everything became a hell of a lot quicker and easier for me after I discovered it. I remember this one night I worked on a three part cut scene for DFQG, and was able to get the entire thing done that night instead of the usual couple of days or so to fix where the dialog would cut and having to rewrite it to make sure that I get the message across.

Best Friends You've Lost
I've lost both my grandfather on my mother's side and my first dog. My grandfather passed away in the summer of 2005 to cancer, while my dog passed away from old age in the summer of 2006. I was never all that close to either of them.
Obligatory Self-Based Characters
The last time that I did this was back in 2003 with "Mystic Quest". Though, one thing I can't stand are people that name characters after themselves, and then give those characters the power of God and a tendency to be popular with every single woman they come across (read: sleeping with). Do you really have to prove your inadequacies by turning yourself into an invincible, all-powerful Mary Sue?
