Seeing that you just started this game, I I would really like to advise you not to use RTP graphics, most people are not interested in that kinds of games and it makes your game not unique. Also good mapping is like an inventation card, if people don't like that they don't even bother (no matter how good the rest of your game is). It's sad but it's true :(.
And ripped/Mac & Blue/refmap graphics make games unique? Not interested in "that kinds of games"? I could direct you towards Hero's Realm and beg to differ. I'd also like to quote myself on why games that are unique aren't necessarily good.
All because something is unique does not mean that it's good. Case in point, I couldn't even stand Yume Nikki. Big empty maps with no clear indication of a way out nor direction = terrible game design. This is the problem with most games that promote their custom graphics/systems. Such games, at their core, do nothing new with the systems, and even more fall back on those systems to make their games any good while everything else suffers.
I would much rather play a Final Fantasy fangame using RTP graphics and music that was highly entertaining, well put together, complete with a compelling storyline than "Hey, look at my menus! Oh, my game? Bah, I just took the tree graphic and put them symmetrically in a square for this one map. Go back and drool at that amazing battle system I slaved over for 7 months."

The saturation on this screenshot hurts my eyes. I can actually feel the back of my eyes aching. You may want to lower it when the game gets back into production.
Fable of Heroes I: Legendary Edition Review
If this is a 4 star game, my games are shoo-ins for 5 stars easy. Thank you for giving me hope for the future.
Then again, regardless of my personal feelings about this game, your review does make it sound more interesting and worth a second, er... third shot (fourth?), and I'd be lying if I said that it didn't give me something to think about.

I strongly recommend this game for everyone.
What an ego you've got making a secondary account for the sake of kissing your own ass.
No one in their right mind would even give this game the time of day, and yet, here you are...

I agree. When I read this, I knew two things.
1. This game was going to be terrible.
2. This designer hasn't been around long enough to realize how important this is.
He's wittingly setting himself up for failure.
How do you tell if a game is bad?
I can tell when a game is bad when it's clear that the designer put all his/her eggs in the "custom" basket. Then again, I can also tell when a game is bad when I can't even finish watching the intro before I give up because of how poorly written the dialog and portrayed the action is.
And any game called "Yume Nikki"...

Cool story bro.
I should be surprised that you actually went so low as to use this, but frankly, I'm not.

I don't think people have a photographic memory, Corfaisus, but I do think that if something is truly "terrible" then the player would remember it. Equally, if something is "terrible" then they should be able to say why they believe that to be the case. I'd just prefer to have feedback that has been thought through and put into context than feedback that is reactionary.
What sort of context are you looking for? Do you expect people to think through why your game sucked dick before telling you that your game sucked dick, as if it made a difference with time? Do you think that people will take what is said in an LT and spin it into something else just for the sake of dragging you or your game's name through the dirt? By ignoring the videos, you allow your games to be worse than they could be. I might dare to go as far as to say that you believe that your game is flawless if you turn a blind eye to the concerns of the community.
Please, take that outrageous ego of yours and toss it in the garbage.
