Is a title screen and logo set up more important than you think?
Number four's my favorite, just move the figure behind the city and have it peek out or hold the frame, or something along these lines, to give it more dynamism.

The sad truth is that the amateur/indie RPG audience don't look for innovation and creativity, they want throwbacks to the great era of jRPG's, in other words DQ and FF clones with cute anime graphics. That's just the way it is. If you want your indie game to succeed, it must be colorful and easily understood (=cliched as fuck). They don't care you use RTP graphics, because they don't have any idea what RTP might be...

I think he was referring to the criticism of overuse of RTP nowadays, when lots and lots of games back in the day were either Rudra or Mack and Blue, so a grand total of 2 pseudo-RTP's.

I don't read the forums as much as I used to, but when did anyone criticize someone's game for not having enough rotating pictures...? Care to provide some links?
I get it you two guys got gigs in the biz, good for you, but why do you expect everyone to spend as much time and effort on making pretty cutscenes as you once did? What do you care?
