It's called Alter AILA Genesis.
@FG: you're wrong, and I'm saying that as a guy who creates such stuff on regular basis. Ask any professional artist, they'll tell you the same. Heck, just fire up DosBox and any of the Lucasarts games (Indiana Jones is nice).

Hmm, you're right, no edit buttons makes me a sad panda.
BTW, your makerscore is outta the fucking world.

Why make something when most people will not enjoy it based on something it isn't trying to do in the first place? /quote]
Because we're not fucking Hollywood, that's why, and we can make whatever games we please. Afterall, we're not risking any money.
It's an issue deserving its own forum topic, but for now I will say I'm making a game with a similar mindset - almost no story and more focus on other aspects, something which very few dare try. They instead choose to emulate mainstream commercial RPGs, which, with no budget available, leads to disaster.
That mindset is what is my main drive. To do things the way which is NOT popular or well-trodden.
I believe you should rethink the reasons you're in this "business" in the first place. If you come into conclusion that what you want to do is to please the biggest number of players possible, then maybe you should go indie instead of amateur.
[2003] Sprite change during battle
Is it possible to change a character's sprite during battle? I believe there is no command to do it directly. I tried calling a common event to change a character's class, and it worked, but only in regards to skills, and not the sprite. I, of course, set a different "animation group" to the class in the Class tab.
Any ideas?

On a serious note, this game looks really, REALLY cool. It's got a lot more style than SL (which is a good game in itself, just lacks polish) and reminds me of an idea I once had of a marriage between an jRPG and a beat'em up, complete with in-battle environment interaction.
If I were you I'd stick to it and release a demo and THEN decide whether to abandon the game based on the feedback.

Boss Project IV
Oh, and could you possibly replace FF monsters with something not as overused? There are thousands of sprites from obscure games on the net which you could put in your game instead of FF monsters which everybody is familiar with. It's what turned me off the previous Boss Projects.

Boss Project IV
The Longing Ribbon Review
Yup, I had to use cheats to enjoy the game. Story and atmosphere are top notch, but battles are a chore.
