Oh, I get what you mean. The question is if I am going to bother doing it to every map. Anyway, I haven't started with the mapping yet. Been busy filling the database with animations and stuff.
[SDK] Final Fantasy VII 2D Remake
That scared the crap out of me, seeing the FFVII menu perfectly recreated like that. If I were making a FFVII fangame, I would see this as a gift from heaven. Really cool.
And now I reveal... MY FINAL FORM! HAHAHA!
This one is a classic I never get tired of. I like final battles because you go all out, they have the best music, it's the climax and so on. It wouldn't be the same without the last boss mutating somehow.
Another related thing I like is the "NOT OVER YET" syndrome. That is, when you've defeated the boss, all goes well and suddenly he comes back for a last push. That's a guaranteed blood rush to your head, especially if you haven't been able to save after all the other fights.
One of the things I look more forward to on my game is the last battle. Since it's not a commercial game, I can go all out and create any crazy multi-part fight I like.

This is why I'm using panoramas only, despite how crappy and clunky it looks when moving around (you can't go behind stuff for example). Chipsets are a pain and the only thing I can't really get around to do. It's like you have to create a puzzle, then piece it together... A struggle all around.

I feel a bit bad about having so many games sitting there, without being given a chance. I should really try a few ones now and then.

Not sure if this helps, but I use images if the boss is too big. Or even battle animations if the scene I want to portray doesn't exceed the max frames. As long as it works visually, it doesn't matter if it's a sprite or a battle animation.
How do you design a good tower?
A good tower needs a door on the top floor that throws you all the way down.

I am pretty much retired from current gaming... I follow the news and stuff to see the trends and how (low) it's going, and my face retorts in horror everytime. All these music games, shooters, that kinectic thing and so on. This must be why I threw my 360 away and I spend so much time making an old school RPG.
