The Here and Now of Yesterday

Howdy all. So, now that this out...

(Awesome job btw Liberty. It's really well compiled and put together, for a really unique and in places terrifying final product)

...would people mind if I used their maps a blueprint for a mansion in my game?

See, the thing is, I love creating characters and writing dialogue, and plotting, but I really suck at aesthetic stuff, especially mapping. I'm forever trying unsuccessfully to recruit mappers for my game (if anyone's interested, incidentally, let me know. Similarly if anyone is really good at the aesthetic stuff but wants someone to do story and dialogue then I could be interested...take a look at my demo for an example of my work). And, when THANOY was announced I was coincidentally just about to try and start working on a haunted mansion for Ch2 of my rm2k3 game. So when I saw it I was like 'Wow, I could use the maps from this for my own mansion'. So I entered the event, and my (poorly mapped, reasonably well scripted) Guest Room even features characters from my 2k3 game.

Now, let me make this clear, I'm not looking to borrow people's eventing, pictures, parallax backgrounds, custom charsets or whatever. I'm just talking about the bare bones mapping made in the editor. Do people mind if I borrow this for my game? If lots of people object, I won't do it. If just a few people object, then maybe I can just use a few rooms, or if people prefer I could literally just take the room dimensions and outlines and redesign the interior objects. I'm particularly interested in certain maps e.g. The hallway, solarium, living room, etc.

Let me know what you think.

NaGaDeMo

Darn it, looks like I'm not going to be able to release in time for the deadline. That's the problem with a non-linear work method...However I've got loads of work done thanks to the motivation of this event so it's all good. Still hoping for Ch2 beta by Summer and full Ch2 by end of year.

Title Screen Vote NOW~

Yessss! So excited!
Number 1 gets my vote. But maybe with number 3's font?

RMN Monthly Podcast: May/June (Part 2)

This is awesome. In other news, LIBERTY WHY ARE YOU STILL DOING STUFF THAT ISN'T FINISHING THE HERE AND NOW OF YESTERDAY???

The Here and Now of Yesterday

Hey Liberty, could this be NaGaDeMo'd to help motivate finishing it, and for extra mmmmakerscore all round? How's progress going, anyway?

Super RMN Bros. 3

I would be up for the basis of super rmn world being a 'best of' selection of the best levels from rmn bros 1-3. The reasoning being there are some awesome levels tucked away in these games, but they are not distributed consistently because of different users' varying degrees of skill with the engine and the amount of time spent on each level. For example, I'm quite proud of my level Beanstalk in rmn bros 2, but not so proud of Stop the Clock, which was made in half an hour...

Or even if not for rmn world, then after world super rmn all stars could be made. At least this way would even out the consistency of the game for those who would like to see a more even rmn SMBX game. Levels could also be grouped thematically into worlds. Plus there could be a fun voting process for selecting the best levels from the previous games!

The Here and Now of Yesterday

I'll volunteer time too, as someone who *is* experienced in 2k3, if it'll help it get finished quicker.

Mini Music Challenge

Dagnabbit. I just realised I uploaded an old version of my entry instead of the final mix. I know it's too late to resubmit, but just in case anyone's interested, here's entry 15 with human drums (instead of a loop) and properly mastered: http://rpgmaker.net/users/Faenon/locker/AIRSHIP.mp3

The Here and Now of Yesterday

So it's now 6 months on. With all due respect, Liberty (and I mean that -very grateful that you're compiling and editing this project), how come you have time do things like LP all the Nugget Crash Course entries and start a 2k3 official release petition (which I've signed by the way) but not to finish this? What's the latest status report?
