FELIXFLYWHEEL'S PROFILE

Hi, I compose video game music, make battle animations, assemble tilesets. Lots of sprite ripping and more for RPG Maker 2003, using my 2 handy tools, FL studio, and Photoshop. I'm always learning new things, and getting better at what I do. I work hard to surpass my limits. I am a perfectionist.

If you're interested in seeing the things I do, you can watch my videos on youtube.

If you need resources, here's a link to my photobucket. It has lots of battle animations and such, just for yoo! Please give credit though, if you're going to use them.

Attack, Intelligence, Variance?

In RPG Maker 2003, I'm just wondering... what is the formula or whatever it is for the attack influence, intelligence influence, and variance? ... actually, what is variance? I have no idea what that does. I mean I know what attack and intelligence have to do with it, but I'm just wondering how much does it add on to the skill depending on the number you choose?

Say this skill heals 50 HP. if intelligence influence is 1 or 2, how much does it add on, or round up, or multiply, etc?

EDIT: Okay... main question... what does Variance do?

Hey, thanks for listing that. I just added it to the top there.

A tool called image positioner might help: http://rmrk.net/index.php?topic=31420.0

It's the third tool from the top. Import your picture, drag and drop, and it'll spit out the exact coordinates you should enter. Make sure you set it to the maker of your choice.
Thanks!!!! ^__^

Rubi

O_O I didn't know this game was up! I thought you were still working on it. I can't wait to play ^O^!

EDIT: I love the cave music! ^__^ Where is this music from? Or did you friend make it?

Bug1: The store in the first village you go to, the one that has the items on the table... if you try to exit the store from the left or right by the plants, and move down, it lets you move down through the wall... a simple passable tile error. Just bringing that to your attention if you're not aware. I'll examine this game carefully to find anything that might need fixing.

Bug2: There's a transparent pixel on the top parts of the cliff. The part of the cliff that covers the character. When you stand in front of it facing down, one of your characters pixels shows through the grass.

Bug3: After the first fighting area with the 2 bunnys and mushroom, if you go back the way you came in after the battle, and then go back, it shows the bunny still there, then disappear real fast.

Bug4: For some reason, the 2nd battle reward, the bandage. It won't let me get it! I'm trying to walk into it and press buttons on it, and nothing is happening. v_v;

Bug5: In the cave, there's another tile glitch. Standing behind the walls that you can walk behind, show the character's pixel through them. Lol. Dunno of these are really bugs, just little graphic errors. They aren't a problem, really, it's just silly. xP (Hey, I can see myself through that rock!)

2k3 vs vx or xp

@Vanit - I agree with you 100% 2k3 is obviously the best of them all. Hell, you can animate your tilesets! Just keep changing the tileset in a parallel (of course, you'd have to have multiple of the same tileset, with each tile changing in each, depending on which are going to animate) and you can make anything animate! Screw that limited 3 framed water tile. We don't need that anymore. And yeah, you're right about all the VX games looking the same. I noticed that too. I see a lot of videos on youtube from different people's projects, and I'm like... >__>; Haha. I try to influence people to at least use XP, because that has better mapping, but 2k3's battle system wins all the way.

@Despite - You forgot to mention this game http://rpgmaker.net/games/2966/ <--- the creator of this demo is one of the best RPG Making artists I've ever seen. She's made several games in the past, and has drawn her own graphics. She's a pixel artist. She's known as Ocean's Dream. Her game gave me a different perspective to VX... I've seen a lot of VX games, and hers actually motivated me. <_<

Adalyn

xD! "Last thing I want is to get pissed off again." that made me chuckle. "Am I crazy? I just walked in here. I want a drink!" xD! I love Adalyn's dialog, and the way the dancer is moving puts a smile on my face. It's so funny. She's doing the hop-hop dance. ^o^ "Mamacita!" XP! Oh snap!!! That Guard just got owned! I love this Bar's music. Oh hell no! They called her a slut! >:O

Okay, this is really cool! The fighting is actually fun, but I kept wasting my ammo >__> I tried searching around with the space bar, and I didn't realize I was shooting. -.-;

The mapping is flawless. I didn't know VX could make good games, 'cause all the ones I've seen on youtube all look the same. <_<'

Oh, I noticed when I tried to go up after fighting the guards, and the message came up saying she needed to go south. When I pressed space bar to make the message go away, she shot her gun again. I guess closing a message triggers a fight action. :O

:O!!! YAY! You used the save crystal I sent you! ^____^ I wonder if anyone would notice that that's the same exact diamond from the Protect spell in Final Fantasy Tactics. xP

Oh! I noticed something! The fire place in Sarita's house. The light from the fire, that shines down from under the fire place... that part is supposed to have an 'Add Blend'. Hahaha. No biggie tho.

Is that a Breath of Fire 2 shelf that I see? :O

It's pretty cool that you can find items that get sent to decorate Sarita's house. That's a really nice touch.

Hmm, I noticed some flowers in the town, their pixels are smaller than the rest of the graphics. Yeah, they're kind of jumbo tiles that XP and VX expects you to use at default. >_> Haha.

LOL! The little girl wanted you to say the alphabet, and you're like "No." xD!\

Those items in Sarita's house on the table... you drew those didn't you? They kind of look like your art style. I like them!
I noticed the enemy guard couldn't walk through that item vest in the grass. xP!

BLEH!! I just got my ass kicked. v_v; Luckily I saved. xP. I REALLY love this game! It's gonna be amazing when you finish it. I also love Rubi, and Paradise blue. Heh. I've never written a review for a game before, but I think I will. I'm not done with this comment though, but I'll leave it for now. I'm gonna play more of this game later.

EDIT: Yeah, this game NEEDS to win. It just needs to. I've NEVER seen any other RPG Making artist make such games as you do. You're beyond advanced, that's what I think!

After seeing this game, I DEFIANTLY wanna help you with making battle animations!

2k3 vs vx or xp

2k3 makes the best games. They're more realistic like actual RPGs. XP has the best mapping system, and VX is just easy to use. What are you looking for? Easy, or Better? 'Tis my opinion. I love 2k3.

Moving Clouds, etc in RPG Maker 2003?

Make sure there's a process that allows the movement to finish, otherwise it will jump back to start over and over. In example, using 'Wait' for the movement duration or make sure the commands are not looping.
Ohh! I get it! Now... do you have any good recommended coordinates that move clouds nicely in a down left direction?

You need to get a picture of the clouds, show them using Show Picture and then use a Move Picture event to get them moving in whatever speed or direction you wish.
I tried that, but they won't move. They just sit up in the corner of the screen. <__<;

Moving Clouds, etc in RPG Maker 2003?

How do you make clouds and such move across the maps? Much like fogs in XP/VX. I know it has to be simple, but I'm just not getting it. v__v;
