RM2000 isn't compatible with Windows 7?

So I just got Windows 7. I've tried everything and I can't seem to install RPG Maker 2000 OR play games made in the engine. Does anybody know of some alternate way to get it to work on this?

That was a great review! Now I know it didn't rake up much of a score, but the way you worded it actually made it sound good! I like it. THESE are the kind of reviews I like, as they can help me with whatever may come from this series (or any series) next!

The reason I sort of UPPED the difficulty was because the other three games were horribly easy.I SHOULD have put in a lot more description regarding the weapons and skills, but 'eh. Too late now, I guess! I'll know better next time (and I might get myself a tester, too. -.o)

Oh! Also, is the Blue Dragon the boss you gave up on? If not, who was it? I'm just curious.

BOSS PROJECT IV

Right when I saw the title and the screenshots, I knew I was in for a hard time.

I'm not a big fan of games like this, but to my surprise, this game had a good story to back it up! Boss Project is BASICALLY a series of boss battles that takes place in a purgatory-like setting. Will the main character, Blair, reach the end and prove he is worthy of salvation, or will he die and suffer eternal damnation? I wouldn't know, sadly.



This game has wonderful music choices, a lot of them from the Final Fantasy series. In fact, all the music included in this game were very appropriately used. Good work on that. Another good thing to point out is that this game was not like any other Boss Project-type game I've played. This game had a neat story to hoist it up and to keep me inspired to see through to the end. Sadly though, it was not enough.



I hated the whole gameplay concept of this game. You spawn with party members you don't really have any background information on at level 50. There are four guys you can talk to to buy things from, including armor, weapons, items, and skill scrolls. With so many things to choose from, you get confused, and you really don't know what type of armor or weapon would give you the necessities to make the next boss fight a cake walk. Apparently, no matter what you do, no boss battle ahead is a real cake walk. There is always a challenge waiting for you. I'm just glad the creator of this game let the four merchants spawn before the next 3 bosses and let you save whenever you wished. The bosses eventually became so difficult that I couldn't see through to the end.
Another thing I disliked was the facesets and how different and oddly they looked compared to their battle charset counterparts. I mean, it isn't like anyone has never seen these facesets before, right? I'd much prefer facesets that just plainly showed the charset itself. Each of your characters have different kinds of powers and skills that can aid you in battle, but with the little amount of money you have to really keep all of them up to par with the strength of the next boss, you really cannot expect to see all of your characters balanced out and powered up, ready to take on the next challenge. It is a real shame, really, and either way I think I can guess what the ending is. There are also a lot of spelling mistakes, but they did not bother me too much.



I kinda went all out with the "Bad," and thankfully none of it was terrible enough to be placed under this section, but I'll just say again that this game is incredibly difficult the further along you go. I don't know, I could've cheated through changing my stats in RPG maker itself, but the difficulty of this game just tore apart my interest in seeing how it all ends. Instead, it was a torturous journey that I refused to endure any longer.

Greatest feature of this game: Sounds and music. Story.

Ho-hum features: Facesets-Battle Charsets comparison.

Worst feature of this game: Difficulty.

Boss battle you will eventually be stuck on: Blue Dragon

Last Impression: A game that could've been better if its difficulty had been toned down. The music and story of the game kept me going as long as possible, but it looks like, in the end, poor Blair has to suffer eternal damnation.

Ha ha ha. Okay, so I overexaggerated and said it is ALWAYS a good thing. My mistake I guess.

Simplicity can be labelled on to many different kinds of aspects such as storylines, gameplay mechanics, designs, and a bunch more (as you've clearly shown through examples). Simplicity is obviously not always a good thing (I didn't mean to say it like that but apparently I did), but not an absolutely abysmal thing either. You make it sound that way. Some people have different preferences and opinions on certain things, including how simplified something is, and yet some people also prefer the more complex sort of video games. I was merely stating my opinion in that review, but like I said before, "always" may not have been what I wanted to put down. I did this shit in the morning, take it easy.

The double face-palm is kinda pathetic though.
If you feel like arguing further, take it to the mailbox. This topic was made for me to write reviews for people's games, not for us to bicker about shit that rose up from a simple misunderstanding.
