Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet~

@Kevincalanor: I just noticed that I never asked you permission to use HouseNight.jpg from Eliza's tachie directory (aka Wolfypack) in my content.
Is that OK with you?
And if yes: should I keep a copy of it in my own stuff or include a stub directory tachie\wolfypack containing just that one picture?

author=MarrendHmm. If the Test Mode is any indicator it should be the other way round.
*Edit2: Though, it should be possible that the CONDITIONs of the story could provide context for allowing the horoscope to affect it. Such as X UNFRIENDLY, or... what-have-you.
With an ID = 97 line test mode list Merika under "Characters in this story", without this line there's no "Character in this story". (I had originally mixed up 79 with 97 ... but nevermind)
That would be consistent with what Mr. Helpfile says about "unintroduced characters" btw.:
author=Mr. Helpfile
Only characters who have appeared in an Introduce story are eligible to appear in any subsequent stories, whether custom or generic. To put that another way, if a story event contains anywhere in its body the command "ID =" for a character whose Introduce story has not yet been played, that story will not be played, even if it includes other "ID =" commands for characters who have been introduced. This restriction does not apply to branches.
Alas, the section about story selection is less specific in this regard.
author=Mr. Helpfile"Appearing" is not defined there.
If any of the characters who appear in a story have a zodiac sign that matches the horoscope prediction for that day, ...
*EDIT*: About the handling of IDs not defined by any Profile within STORYs ... the game just treats them as NPCs. I.e.: if you do something like
game_profiles.txt
STORY 777
CONDITION = 1 LIKE
PLACE = Roof
ID = 123456
I'm not a girl
ID = Suspicious Voice
Me neither
ID = 1
UNFRIENDLY
SHOW CENTER
Get lost you two. You don't even exist.
In this story "123456" and "Suspicious Voice" speak in "black" text and only Miki is shown by her name and in that purple-pinkish-red color-thingy.
Similiary: if you use a non-existent character or STORY ID in any conditional jump like
A: 123456 LOVE

Should this work?
The intention here is, that the "ID = 79" should tell the game that the STORY belongs to a certain girl which doesn't actually appear in the story.
This should result in the STORY being favored if the playing person choses to shift the horoscope to her sign.
STORY 9706
CONDITION = whatever
PLACE = Hall A
ID = 79
ID = 0
(Up ahead there's Hiroaki talking to some other guy.)
(He hasn't noticed me, yet.)
(Maybe I'll just listen in on them?)
ID = Guy
'Tell you she's hot for you.

Just a by-drop by your retired overseer, people -
Garage? Please give the ladies eyebrows. Even a hint of them, if in-story they burned off or were otherwise removed.
I've been trying to convince him for weeks ... At least he did listen to you!
Hope that's better?

BTW: Latest version of WingGirl and WG_Pathways, including eyebrows

EDIT: Now officially released.
Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet~
author=watermarkIt is, in fact, mentioned in game. If you concentrate on Miki you'll have to help her become the school's announcer.
The name of the High School is never mentioned in the game right? I can't seem to find it anywhere. So I can make something up? The reason I ask is because I'm writing a fanfic on Heartache and would like to get canon facts straight.
If you succeed, she'll greet the school in her first announcment. By name.
By the way: that very same announcment settles the question of when exactly the bet was made, too.
She says: "midterm exams will start next week". If we assume it's summer or spring during the game (suggested by the coloring of outdoor pictures) we're probably in the first term (i.e. between April to July), midterm would be somewhere around June 1st.
Since that announcement is made pretty late in her route (read: at least 50-60 days into that bet) it indicates that the bet occured very early in the school term.

author=MarrendWell the final event with Masako has a certain dreamlike quality but to me it still feels real.
That story should not impact Masako's route at all, if memory serves me right. Can your characters call <player> out for dating her simultaneously with one of them? Sure.
Though, I get the odd impression that Masako is dream-kissing in that one story.
About my story: yup. He dreamt it. But it's used just as a klugde.
Shika doesn't react to the dream instead she senses he's feeling something for someone besides her and
she's stalking him and thus knows at least something about the real events leading to his dream.
The switches referenced from pathways.txt indicate a certain ... state of mind ... of Shika.
I'm not too sure about how I wrote this route ... how it feels for someone other then it's author.
Speaking of need for feedback - here' my current version of WingGirl and Pathways:
(no longer up-to-date see below)
There are 4 pursueable girls with a total of 8 different ENDINGs in WingGirl and Pathways combined.
It's not entirely finished, but I consider it playable (and hopefully enjoyable).

author=MarrendWhy Welp?
I have no clue! However, the phrase "private room" or "private table" seems to come to mind?
Welp.
I think I'll rewrite my scene to something like your suggestion.
BTW: two of my chars currently will be checking for several competitors. One of them might get into a mood where she'll be very ... sad ... if Kazuhiko follows other routes, the other one will be inclined to step down if he finds someone she considers "better" then herself.
What are your feelings on them checking for Masako? They won't interact with her, only call Kazuhiko out on his actions.
Currently there's a trigger for dating Masako and one for scoring her ending ... like this:
WG_Pathways/shika_profile.txt, masako_profile.txt
STORY 10010
CONDITION = 9087 DONE IN WG_Pathways/pathways.txt
CONDITION = 9091 NOT DONE IN WG_Pathways/pathways.txt
CONDITION = 98 LOVESICK
DATING = 10
(I feel like somebody's watching me ...)
(Oh, well ... maybe I'm just imaging things.)
ID = 98
AFFECTION DOWN
CONTINUE
STORY 11010
CONDITION = <cesnsored> DONE IN masako_story.txt
PLACE = Bedroom
PRIORITY = High
(I woke up from a dream about Masako kissing me ...)
(I do hope we'll meet again as she promised.)
A: 9087 DONE IN WG_Pathways/pathways.txt AND 9091 NOT DONE IN WG_Pathways/pathways.txt
BRANCH A
(But what will Shika say if she found out?)
(She has a way of finding things out ... and she sure won't be happy with me.)
ID = 98
AFFECTION DOWN
JUMP somewhere IN WG_Pathways/hibiko.txt
Where <censored> is the ID of the switch that enbales Masako's ending.
The STORY 10010 might influence Masako's route slightly as there's a possibility that an non-High-prio DATING story of hers might get delayed because of that.
In one of Shika's routes Kazuhiko has to keep her at LOVESICK or she get excessively "unhappy" with him

Oops: Language confusion.
I thought that there were many many words in the English language which were borrowed from French especially in gastronomy.
So I assumed that the word separee for a private room or booth in a restaurant would have been borrowed too. Am I wrong?
In other words: how would a waiter of a better then average restaurant tell his guests that he will guide them to the secluded room for which they have reservations?
Or: how would you phrase the following conversation of a young Japanese couple talking with a waiter in a better-then-average Chinese restaurant?
W: Good evening <how are they addressed>
W: Do you have reservations?
Girl: Yes. Table for two. By the name <last>.
W: Ah! Yes. The separee ... please follow me, <polite address>
