Hero's Realm: Heroic Edition
My RMN birthday was 5 days ago and I forgot, so I'm celebrating now!
the new christmas toy that nobody will ever see on shelves (spoilers it the snes classic)
Actually 6666 is a reference to the Star Wars Expanded Universe novel where the evil clone of Emperor Palpatine orders Darth Lightsabers to execute Order 6666 which is where The New Empire flies the Dark Sun Crusher into the center of the galaxy and destroys the universe and only Luke and the gang can save the day. It ends when Chewie dies by somebody dropping a moon on him.

Oh man the argument hasn't even started! Now let me tell you about CRT TVs...
Or actually how about that Star Fox 2? The version out on the Internet is a beta ROM but SF2 was in fact actually finished and ready for release way back when. Presumably that'll be the version released on the SNES Mini. The beta ROM is described as "90% complete".

The best controller solution is the 8bitdo SNES bluetooth controller w/ the bluetooth SNES controller reciver. Who needs any stinkin' cables?
is what I would say if I had this setup and could vouch that it works but I don't have the money to spend $120 for wireless SNES controllers
e: now lemme tell you about that time I spent $250 on Chrono Trigger with some of the feelies included

Engine Switch - The Pact
Having to script in your own death handler is another One Step Forward One Step Back fashion of RPG Maker. It's one of the most frustrating things about RM.

There's value in a plug in play, streamlined experience that just works. A friend of mine got something like a retropie or something and half the time was setting it up and getting the damn thing to work. Plus a pre-curated list of games helps with analysis paralysis and not picking fantastic games like Super Monkey Adventure (Famicom game, but translate to appropriate SNES game at your leisure)

There's so many good SNES games I'm more tempted to buy an everdrive or similar flash card in SNES cart or a retropie and just curate my own list of cool and hip snes games than go through the headache of trying to buy Nintendo's latest shitstorm.

I don't have high hopes over the quantity produced. Nintendo has said they'll produce more but beyond 2017 it doesn't sound like they have plans to continue the product. From this Kotaku article:
e: at least the controller cables are longer, a whole five feet! That's two feet more than the NES classic controller cables! And that's terrible.
Nintendo
