I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting ready for fearful to drop the greatest horror game this site has ever seen.

@Corfaisus

First impression: "I leave my books on the ground, when there's a perfectly good table over there."

But nah, seriously, there's a few different impressions I can get from this:

* We're either looking into a melancholy or somber setting, or we're looking into the past, as shown by the lighting.
* Looks like whoever lived here left in a hurry after reading what was in that book.
* (The alcohol doesn't necessarily strike me as someone in sadness or drinking out of depression, though I can understand that's how someone may interpret it.)
* The person who lives here is hiding something. They live underground as indicated by the ladder, and they're hiding/protecting whatever is in that room to the south.
* Someone was getting ready to sit down, drink a glass of wine and start reading a book, when they are suddenly taken away.
* Someone has died, and they have intentionally left a book for whomever enters to find and read, which will shed light on the real reasons for the person's death.
* Someone is getting ready to enter their room, only to find that a mysterious book has appeared on the floor.

What's your favorite Game Maker?

The more I use MV, the more I find I don't like about it. I like its side-view system, but that's always been something I can take or leave. My main project I'm working on is in MV, and at a certain point it becomes frustrating to use.

I've been playing around with XP again, and I love the flexibility it gives you in its RTP. They put a ton of work into it.

VX Ace, however, I think is my favorite. The more I use it, the more I enjoy it. Better database than XP (though I did like its fog effects, I'd like to see the next RPGM add that), great eventing, and the RTP is quite flexible. I mean, it looks pretty good in the right hands: take a look at luiishu's Castle Oblivion Remake. It's inspiring, and it uses primarily RTP.

Ok, so then it's:

Rhyme
Someoneman
Gredge109
Zero3D
Rine
supersonicsoda

I just checked your posts and saw you could only use XP and MV. Guess that rules you out, then. :)

Foiled again! Haha

Progress report

Pretty much done. I match the time in the first half. However... it's still rather short. But I think that's because I've been playing it so much. For others, it will probably last roughly an hour.

I took the original creator's story and finished it. The first half creator already had an established battle system, so I went with it, added a couple new enemies as well, changed only a very minor aspect of a pre-existing. Added some new areas, a puzzle, expanded a little on the mechanics already in place.

All that's left is for me to come up with a good boss fight at the end, and I'll be ready to make that game page.

Gredge, if that's the case, do you know who you swapped with?

I do. However, once I mention that person's name, you'll download their game to check which engine they used, and then use it to deduce whether or not there's a chance I have your game.

So I'd rather not say. Mwahahaha...

Dark Souls III -> Bitten by the hype?

I loved the original Demon's Souls, as well as Dark Souls. Also, Bloodborne is quite possibly my favorite game on the PS4.

So I'm pretty hyped for DS3. However, what tends to happen is, I don't pre-order, I just wait around for a game to launch, then I notice it's out at some point, then pick it up, and play the crap out of it for a couple months.

On a separate note, what I'd like to see after this is Bloodborne 2. I can't get enough of its fast-paced combat and surreal atmosphere.

Okay. Current list of suspects:

Rhyme
Someoneman
Pizza
Zero3D
Rine
supersonicsoda

I'm pretty sure one of these people dropped out, though.

You sure about that? The first game I had mentioned, several pages ago, has since been swapped out for someone else, due to problems with my installation of that particular engine.

So you never know. It could be me.

White Sky

Hey, just wanted to let you know I played and finished the game today. It was really cool! Not sure what ending I got, but I enjoyed it all. Hope to see more.

e: I had a hint of whose game I got but then I realized it's better to leave everybody in suspense who will find all their hard work thrown away when their part is followed up by a scene of where skeletons fall everybody dies with a kazoo playing in the background

I'd totally be OK with my game ending like this. Or aliens.

I can't help but try to figure out who got my game. I love a good mystery. Though right now I'm about 99% sure Liberty got mine.

So the game I wound up with is certainly a challenge, because the maker came up with a unique system that I decided to adopt. So, I had to go through it, come up with my own version of it (working well so far!) and try to develop on the ideas they had in place.

I've already developed and finished the story. I'm getting close to the length of the first half, just have to add a battle or two and make it a little longer. Maybe a puzzle or two should do the trick.

Jeez I wish I had more freetime in my schedule for this event. Sacrificing sleep isn't fun.
