Townlore

Yeah, I've been thinking about posting it on creepypasta wiki. I also found out that Townlore was mentioned on reddit as well. Game being posted here may be an issue, though, as it won't be some creepypasta game with unknown orgin, but a game made by someone certain (which can be found out by simply searching game's title via google for example).

On the other hand, game was published on the internet. Nobody really knows who actually made it - even if I posted it here, right? ;)

Wow, I just read your version. I like how detailed and realistic it seems. If you don't mind, I'll add it into the game file and as game description.

Townlore Review

Wel, it would be at least interesting to see what would you do. I'd gladly read your modified version of creepypasta, if anything ;)

Townlore Review

Thanks for the review. At first I wanted to add a bunch of things to do in that game, like shop where you could buy some furniture, sell stuff like fishes or apples etc etc. That's what the mainland was for, initially. Basically, my first intention was to make a game like Animal Crossing with creepypasta touch. I may still add such feature later on, if I feel like working on this game some more. As for entering houses, it is possible. The thing is, you cannot enter the house when it's resident is outside, or sleeping. Every character stays up for one hour after going back inside their houses, so this is the time when one can visit them. There is not much to do there, though.
Also, as for creepypasta story alone - yeah, well... it was written quite spontaneously. At first I didn't even intend to write such thing at all, but I thought it could be a nice way to hint potential players about how to progress in this game. I would fancy some editing on that part, though as it became quite important part of the game after all.

However, IMO even better thing would be spreading this game in a viral-like way (even if it would stay unpolished - or even better if it would stay unpolished), to spread the creepiness, as this is (or at least should be) a real purpose of this game.

If you wish, I can write you down exactly what happens when. Behold the spoilers:

-Goatson goes to sleep at 2AM, until 3AM
-After event in the forest Pandora will be sleeping till 8AM
-After that, it is advised to check the town out every hour to see how things are progressing
-Have in mind that Game Over in this game is somewhat unconventional - instead of normal Game Over screen, you'll see something a bit different, which may appear as some kind of bug, or something. Just sayin, as there were already people who did not realised that it was end of the game.

Thanks for the tip.

Townlore

Sure thing. I'd like to see it.

Oh? And making picture looking smoother is not a reason? The thing is, I saw enough pictures done in small res to have some idea of how usually they end up to look like. Scalling them down by this much won't erase details,as long as they're not 2x2 pixels big.

It seems that you're talking about drawing picture in smaller resolution, then scaling it to required one and then scaling it down once again. As I said before - pictures drawn on bigger sheet can be more detailed. Scaling pictures down will also make them look smoother (that's actually well known operation in digital arts). Also, lets be honest - 1088x832 ain't that big (it's not even twice as big as that 640x480 which you insist on). Ofc all these 'rules' are pretty much contractual. If you'd draw smth cool in that 640x480 dimension, then be my guest. Just have in mind, that it may look strange then (because - as I mentioned earlier - RMVX Ace works in 544x416, not 640x480 and it won't scale properly).
