Divinity Fatum Art Gallery "Contest"

Because I can simply resize pictures down. If I would ask for pictures of resolution 544x416 (that's Ace resolution btw, they could simply look not that good, because of rather small canvas dimension. Bigger pictures can be more detailed etc. and after scaling them down, they wouldn't look that 'raw' either.

Nightmare Castle

Felt urge to play that game for a while. I may give it a go tonight, even. Color pallete really appeals to me and visual aspects are quite important for me (however shallow that sounds).

Calunio, it seems you may be interested in games of mystery genre. I'd suggest you to try out Misadventures of Detective Butler. As it is not so interactive as Happy Birthday, story told in this game is far more interesting imo.

That's also why I nominated this game for Best Storytelling and Direction. Not only it has pretty interesting plot, likeable characters and nice atmosphere suitable for detective story, but it also presents us - players - with neat locked room mystery, which I personaly enjoy.

Oh, I've also played Happy Birthday and I felt it suffers from the same thing - sometimes you had to just blindly show every item you had to every character to try and progress in the game. Altrough that's how usual mystery solving games work, it is still frustrating, as it kills feeling of being a detective. Plus for me is that game was loosely inspired by visual novel "When the Seaguls Cry" (or at least I get such feeling). I haven't really played any other games, but still I wouldn't really say that Happy Birthday had that great of story. Everything was pretty much obvious before even going on the first floor.

If anything, I'd say that Misadventures of Detective Butler ( http://rpgmaker.net/games/5470/ ) tells far more interesting story, altrough it is more of a visual novel, than actual game.

Hm, sorry for bump but is it normal for these threads to be so abandoned? Or is it just that Misaos ain't that anticipated?

Hm... kinda cool to see Divinity Fatum on the list. Altrough not popular, nice to see it somehow appreciated.

Divinity Fatum

Uh, it's not that easy. First, get some software for game creation (if you don't know any programming language), read some tutorials online, download and deconstruct demos of other games (to see how things work, to learn some tricks etc etc), and basically just fool around with the program. Try doing some random game "for yourself", to test everything out and when you'll be oriented in game making well enough, you could start doing your own, public game. It is however a long-lasting process.

Divinity Fatum

Yeah, hearing that this game makes such impact on other people is one of the things that encourage me to keep going with the game. I also wish you all luck with your own production and I'll be more than happy to check it out after it'd be done ;)

Divinity Fatum

I wanted to avoid making it look like that certain NPC waits for player. After all, it is protagonist who seeks help - that NPC goes with it's normal life, I would say.
