[DEMO] Destiny's Blades Chapter III
[DESIGN] World Maps - how do you go about them?
I draw them by hand randomly. I've made some pretty cool ones. I've never actually bothered doing so, but I should probably try scanning a few in and spiffing them up in Photoshop.
Generica - [RMVX..?]
I agree with WIP - that sounds like a great idea.
I probably will never get around to contributing much to the story since I'm working on my game story things right now, but I might be able to do some character art (faces, at least) if you like. Assuming school doesn't swamp me, anyhow.

36 Days Left - The Countdown to Brawl
Banjo Kazooie also wasn't getting a sequel released on the 360 at the time those GBA games were made.

Yeah, It'd be nice to have modern/futuristic sets. There is not a great deal of these even in rm2k/3.
Also, it'd help since my new project idea is near-future. =)

Top Ten Topic: Playstation 1, 2 and 3!
Some of my stuff is going to be obscure.
1. Tactics Ogre - Just a really, really good tactics game; it is basically Final Fantasy Tactics's mommy. Despite less job classes, it's gameplay is far more complex. It is also much more challenging and has well-executed multiple story branches. Atlus also did a pretty good localization for this and the story is excellent.
2. Valkyrie Profile - A really neat stylized RPG with a quirky minimalist story. I think most people here will know about this.
3. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - I'm pretty sure everyone knows this one. If not, play it, it's pretty easy to find.
4. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - Probably the best of the Shin Megami Tensei/Persona games. Buy it if you can find it. The customization mechanics and depth is incredible.
5. Culdcept - This is a really good, if odd, hybrid of Monopoly and the Magic TCG. It's solo campaign is somewhat entertaining, but it's way better in multiplayer. A sequel is being released to the 360 sometime next year.
6. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment - A really good modern RPG with extremely clever combat mechanics. Developing persona is extremely fun. The story is pretty good too, and the localization is generally above average. Also features one of the most annoying dungeons ever created (Sumaru TV).
7. Metal Gear Solid 3 - Everyone knows this.
8. Shadow Hearts 2 - Much better then Shadow Hearts 3. Genuinely likable characters. The Japan sequence feels a bit tacked on, though.
9. Suikoden V - Suikoden came from from III and IV. This one is pretty great, even if the first hours are a chore.
10. Deception III: Dark Delusion - A rather obscure strategy game in where your only defense is traps. Trap variety is immense; everything from boulders and arrows to electric traps that shock opponents in water and banana peels. It also has a neat gothic aesthetic and a trippy storyline with multiple branches and a variety of extras. Excellent game if you can find it. This game is the predecessor of Trapt, which isn't as good.
Notables:
Wild Arms
Final Fantasy Tactics
Saiyuki (One of the last games of the PS1 era, vanished under the PS2 rush, has some of the best level design in any tactics game)
God of War
Okami (Stylized Zelda-clone)
Shadow of the Colossus
Psychonauts (Yeah, not exactly single platform, but still - poor Psychonauts)
Odin Sphere
Devil May Cry 3
Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Pick one)
Kartia (Neat if only because of the weirdness; good plot and characterization, too)
Tales of the Abyss (A much better attempt then any previous Tales outing)
Suikoden 1
Suikoden 2
Persona 3 (Not as good as P2, though)
Vandal Hearts (Early PS1 tactics game; simple, but fun)
Vandal Hearts 2 (The story FFT wanted to tell the first time around)
Alundra (Pretty good attempt at Zelda)
And, yeah, that's enough for now.
