Just an aspiring game designer. I've played video games since I was little and recently have gotten to the point of 'it would be so cool if this was like this' or 'if there were more options to customize this, it would be amazing', add that on top of getting ideas for games randomly and I figured I'd try my hand at making my own.


My favorite types of games tend to be:

1. Dungeon-crawling, with an emphasis on fun battles and customization with difficulty selection.

2. Horror-type games, it was awesome to see RPG Maker even capable of making games like these.

[RMVX ACE] Mapper Requested!

I have a small project that I'm working on behind-the-scenes that has a really great idea going for it, but it comes to a stop when it gets to mapping. Currently, it's on hold, but I'd like to see if there's anyone with a bit of free time on their hands who would like to make some maps for my game. It's not a long game by any means so it won't be a huge project. 20-40 maps give or take, depending on if there's simple hallway maps or small rooms involved.

Shoot me a message if you're interested and I can also tell you more about the game if you'd like or any other information you'd like to know!

More information:

- It's a gothic-themed setting, and 80% of maps will be featuring inside a manor.

- There's no money involved, but I can pay in other ways such as helping you with your project if you need help with battles, ideas, balancing, testing, etc. Or if you have anything else you need, we can discuss it!

EDIT: I almost forgot, the ultimate edition and probably most of my future games will be made with VX ace. MV runs at about 10 fps on my computer.

Well im still sorry to hear about the MV situation but I'm the same way here. sucks to see all these new games coming out and then find out they're with MV =~=

Any and all of my future games are going to be with Ace. I mean it's great for what it is. There's scripts to make it play like MV with the sideview battles. There's so much you can customize it with, the imagination is really the limit. xD
(And well, patience to find the right scripts)

A "waterwall" is missing to the right of the top-most house on the map. Aside of that, it looks freaking beautiful.


Isn't it supposed to be sort of a river though? Or maybe it's just further upstream? xD I dunno looks good to me as is /shrug

Hey, Frejo! Thanks for your feedback! It's always helpful to hear what others think about the game!
Regarding the feedback, in order;

- That's actually not too bad of an idea. I think I'll add a little something to help balance out that choice a bit, since the early fire grimoire does make Meryl an almost unfairly enticing choice.

- Yeah I've heard that and I've fixed that up in the game, just holding off until I get another large chunk (or hopefully the whole thing) finished before the next demo!

- Yeah it can be pretty rough. I might have to say I want to keep the move on the boss though. Stun only lasts a turn, and getting hit knocks you out of it immediately, and you're given resistance for a few turns to help get you back on your feet afterward. It might just be me, but I do like a tough boss battle to look forward to. I'm just a bit of a battle enthusiast when it comes to making games. XD

- I'll take that into consideration! I could put the second guide key item in the same place I put the message that details about the system in general, it's basically considered the tutorial house after all. xD

- I actually have something very similar in mind! (And on a side note, I feel grimoires that have different levels would be a bit redundant considering stronger spells aren't available til higher level areas anyway, might lead to unnecessary spending buying both a new book + spells) I won't spoil too much on it, but I am going to have different kinds of books available later in the game!
