LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Playing Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure for the DS. It's actually pretty fun and cute. I think I'm almost finished, too. ^.^

Race: Naga, Nagaii (plural)

A snake-like race that lives in marches and swamps. Though once thought to be evil and malicious creatures due to their frightful appearance, Nagaii are really a wise, thoughtful race that prefer to keep to themselves. Most Nagaii that leave the marshes to travel are intelligent warriors who take a strategic view to battle and usually end up becoming strategists, archivists, doctors*, priests, assassins* or teachers of their arts.
*Due to living in marshes and dealing with many types of poisons, most Nagaii are adept at healing/using them.

Coming from a society that revolves around family groups, Naga are very protective of children and the sanctity of marriage (no matter the race). Though usually level-headed, Naga can become rather vicious when protecting the weak or arguing their beliefs.

Due to their snake-like tails, it is easy to think that their mobility is hindered, however Naga are quite dexterous and capable of using their tails as an extra limb for climbing, attacking and (in some cases) handling things.

That looks a lot better than the last two versions.

The Mists of Maderaan

I really like the screens. I'll definitely give this a go when a release comes out. Looking good so far - keep up the good work!

Map Design Fun #9: BQ2 --- gamepage is up! DOWNLOAD NOW!

How about mixing it up a bit and do something like a horror-fest mansion or something. Try to create scary/atmospheric maps or light-hearted areas in a forest/cave/something-or-rather?

Just an idea.

Racial Diverstiy In RPG's

It just doesn't feel like a real world to me if there isn't racial diversity. Whether that means elves and dwarves or African Americans and Asians depends on the type of game/story. Or even cat-people and frogs. (Shout out to BoF! Woo~)

Racial Diverstiy In RPG's

For a while now I've made sure to include other races in my games, though they aren't often seen as I usually start a new game before I get to the race mixing.

Having games set in a fantasy world, where boats (and sometimes ONE airship) are the main transport, kind of limits racial interaction a bit - especially if you only see/visit a part of the world instead of all of it.
Different skin colours are usually only shown in desert or tropical areas and commercial hubs (ports/capital city) - of which there is only a few as opposed to the 'many' towns and cities that are usually visted.

As for commercial RPGs, well, it's pretty stupid to put up such racial barriers.

It looks better than before, but does it really need all that space? Even half that size would look much better. Unless she's gonna be hosting a party in there or something...
