LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

Demon Tower has thirty floors

I keep reading the topic as "Demon tower has dirty floors" for some reason. ^.^ Just thought I'd put that out there.

I tried WW. It was okay. Not as fun (to me) as Worldsong or FF12/Demon Tower but still pretty good. ^_^

Most Memorable RM Characters [May include SPOILERS!!!]

So I've been reading the topic "Best RM game you've ever Played" and noticed that it's gone on a bit of a side trip into most memorable villains. I figured, meh, what about the heroes and NPCs and well, here we are.

Discuss here the Heroes/Villains/NPCs (of RM games) that you think are the most memorable. Who's your favourite? Who's the worst? Who's the one you most wanted to kill? The one you pitied the most?

I'll let you guys start. ^.^

GO!

Second Befuddle Quest?

Sure thing. As long as I'm not too busy at the time (and maybe even if I were ^.^).

Befuddle Quest

The maze puzzle was pretty simple - well being a maze and all. Still, took a while to solve.
Then I got to the switches and realised I had to flip every switch at least once. That worked out fine for me.
This took me to the dark rooms. It took a while to figure out the pattern and I kept running back up the steps which (I think) kept resetting the pattern.
The ship was okay. I liked the idea of having to carry the items and all, though so many times was a bit annoying.
Then came my favourite puzzle - the time loop. Mind you, it wasn't my favourite until after I figured out what to do. Which took a while. I managed to use the goggles which really helped me figure out what the aim was. Took a long time, though - but it was clearly the best one.
The ending was okay. ^_^

As for my own puzzle... well, I was running out of time and ideas when I came to the gargoyles questions so that one is a bit of a bully. ^.^ Sorry.

Still, altogether it was a fun experience. I'd do it again.

Reconnecting with siblings?

As one older sibling to another*, it seems to help when you listen to their problems. Even if you just let them know that if they need to talk about anything you're there for them and willing to listen. Don't pressure them into talking, though. Teens tend to want to do things in their own time.

Try not to be too smothering, but stand up for 'em when they need it - especially if other family members are saying stuff. That can be very hurtful to them and it helps them to know they've got someone in their corner.

Also, praising them when they do well in things and make the right choices. Leading by example can work for some - but not all of the time. They're their own selves with their own problems. You can't handle one brother the same way you handle another. And your sister will be a whole other ball game altogether.

The best way to get closer to them is to spend some time with them. Set aside some time to do something together. Interaction is really the only way know them better and understanding them will help a lot with making you a closer family unit. It doesn't need to be big, either - start small and build up gradually. Maybe help them with their chores/take them shopping/go for a walk/play a game together. Any time spent talking and sharing ideas/thoughts/jokes is time spent bonding.

Most importantly, be yourself. Let them get to know you better. Once they start to trust you with their problems you know you're on your way to a closer relationship with them.

As to your sister - may I recommend that you ask her if she needs 'The Talk' before arranging something. There's quite a bit that you pick up at school about that sort of stuff, if not from the Sex Ed classes, then definitely from friends. No need to embarrass yourself - though if you want to be teased by your sister in the future... by all means, go ahead. ^_^ (Though personally - I'd get Grandma to talk to her about that)

*Four younger brothers, and a sister 9 years younger than me.

Sowwy! I probably should have only sent the side view ones now that I think of it.

At least you're well prepared for all your monster needs. XP

That screen looks pretty good. (I like the grasses. )

[Community Project] Missiongarde -- Class refining in progress

Here's a couple of hundred thousand monsters and some panoramas/backdrops that I was able to find. The monsters with 'fv' at the start of their names are front view and those with 'sv' are side view. Have fun - there's a lot of them (all rips from different games).

I'm not sure where the panos and backdrops came from, though. ^.^

If your avatar was a superhero...

If my avatar was a superhero, it's name would be...

The Amazing Un-Emo

If my avatar was a movie, it'd be called...

'Bleach' ^.^ Or 'Not Emo: A True Story'

Yeah I had to.

If my avatar was a computer game, it'd probably be named...

Emotional Saga XVII

If this were BedRock Men Network...

Mine would be Roberta too. o.O
Small, small world.

Heh. ^.^;
Misunderstood, what with the lamia makin' me think... and well, mentioning MQ and all. Sorry.

As for that row command, isn't there some way to code it out? Or at least leave enough room between sprites for it to not matter?
