I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

Black Sigil for the DS -- it's like FF6 and CT had a baby
I don't know, it seems more like a Secret of Mana knock-off to me. Though I can sorta see the CT influences too. I'll probably give it a go, though... If I can play (some truly dreadful ^.-) RM games, I should be able to play this.

RMN Snews - Issue #3
Good job on this issue too. It's great to see what's going on in the community without having to venture into the community in a convenient summary.
RPG VX font?
You need to make a picture of the actual title you want, then add it to the graphics folder under the appropriate area. Then go to the database and change the title screen to the one you made under 'System' tab.

Ah, as for where to get the maker (if you're talking RM2K/3) you'll have to google it because it's an illegal program - well the English version is, anyway.
If you want RMXP or VX you can buy XP or download a trial of VX (though you have to purchase it later) but a google should also help you there.
As to making an RPG, well, you can start planning your RPG before you get a maker - start with a story or characters, get some ideas as to what kind of setting you want it in. After you get a maker then check out the help file for general tips, search for tutorials or ask here if you need more help.
Most of all, have fun. ^.^

There are a lot of first games on this site but if you really want your game to be added try again, this time work on the description summary (pay particular attention to the grammar/spelling/punctuation there-in).
Make sure that your screenshots are different to each other (for example, not all of the same place/conversation/event) and that they aren't too dark.
Try just making a presentable project page before adding a download, then see about uploading your game.
RMN is more about quality (effort!) than quantity.
