LIBERTY'S PROFILE

I enjoy playing and creating games (mostly RPGs) and have a love of story and characterisation above graphics. I've been into RM* since '96 and have used all makers - started on the PSX makers, found and used a patched version of the SNES RM, then moved to RM95. When I found RM2K I finally decided to join some forums and I've been a part of the community ever since.

I wonder if we could get some dark-skinned characters up in here. It's like an ocean of white and I know we have people on site who have darker skin than that. It'd be nice to see some variation in skin tone, even if it's just a few recolours of the current ones.

(Actually, LockeZ, that's the best way to map some ruins - ones where the destruction was sudden. That way the place feels like it was destroyed while people were still living there. It adds a sense of authenticity to the destruction, by making the place look like there was life there that got cut short by whatever happened.

Of course, if the ruins are abandonned, then that's another story - put down the basic structure and maybe scatter a few bits and bobs where squatters would have lived before also moving on, but mainly bare and broken in that case.

It's all about the story~ ;p)

No, I don't know why I bracketed that.

Also, dance cages. Look em up, they're a (pretty cool) thing.

For the disco you could use different coloured floor tiles (and their wrecked counterparts). I guess worship rooms might be an idea? Or commune-type rooms with cushions for seats and blankets (around a smoking pipe?). Or dressing rooms for getting doled up for the disco? I'm not sure. Maybe do a little research on what disco clubs of the 70s had at their disposal. A lounge area, maybe?

W-What's it supposed to be?

After Game Jam Valentines game I'm going to put some effort into finishing that map I owe.

It could work if you didn't use the other ones - it doesn't really fit with them colour-, shading- and perspective-wise. The others work well together, though. I could swear there were some other ones, too, edits of the RTP tiles, that were pretty neat. I'll have a look around for them later, see if I can find them.

Yeah... but this version works to fit the description given by the creator of that area. Also, I don't do population? I'm just another creator who likes to add a few edits here and there, and to help out where it's needed (like maps... which reminds me that I should get a move on with the Forest Tower).

The eventing and writer is Unity, since she's lead dev for the project~ Unless she asks, that's her forte.

It looks great. I love the whole rafting part, not to mention the stilts on their own raft parts. Could do with a little shift-mapping around the high cliff parts (where there'd be overlap) and the ladders need the railing underneath them (I'll whip up a tile that you can bung in for that) but overall it looks just like it's described.
It's not trying to be too fancy, but it fits the description quite well and gives the overall tropical feel pretty well. Good job! d(^.^)b

Don't worry, BT, there's a lot more maps that need doing.

I realize that I'm not merely content to make the maps, but wish to do some eventing as well- puzzle,s dialogue, traps. If it's not possible to do that on Mount Arazia, perhaps I should switch to a town where i have the opportunity to write NPCs dialogue.

I don't think you understand that we don't get to create NPCs. We're mapping, not eventing (bar, perhaps, puzzles in dungeons, though we don't have to do those). Thus the name of the page - Make a Map.

Figured I might as well post them here either way.
