The site owner spouts white supremacist garbage and the mods react to my concerns by laughing at me. I'm not going to put up with a toxic community like this anymore.

Market Research to my new RPG Maker game

Anime for someone who doesn't really 'like' anime.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's styled heavily after Anime and you can troll anime fans with it.

[RMVX ACE] Luck's purpose as a parameter.

Luck is actually the parameter influencing the chance of status effects going through.

The damage difference must have a different reason.

Another that I came up with would be to give the fake ghosts an immortal flag if you wanna make it more difficult - even though they're still unkillable, they still appear to take damage this way. It would make the battle much harder as you can't test who is real by attacking one of the targets. Otherwise, simply make all attacks against a duplicate miss via perfect evasion (feels more appropriate flavor-wise than having them take 0 damage).

Lastly, try starting the boss with a battle event where the two replicas are created before anyone can act, as a means to show that only one of them is real.

The boss and the two ghosts should all have unique battler IDs, though - otherwise, you'll have battlers named "Boss" "Boss A" and "Boss B", since RPG Maker assigns letters to distinguish battlers with the same ID.

Another thing - does the player have access to AoE attacks? In that case, you might want the fake ghosts to counter attack if struck to discourage just brute-forcing to find the real boss. (the counter skill shouldn't be too dangerous, but it could neuter the actor's offenses for instance).

Importing maps made by other people?

I would like to add on that importing maps like that is useful for cooperative projects, so you can work on doing the database, the writing and so on while the other person works on doing the maps. So in case you get to a team project in the future, it's useful to know.

A case for RPG Maker

The reason for this perception is simple: Easier to access => easier to make games => more games => more crappy games

Also, it takes away the sense of superiority from people who know how to program a game, but not how to make one.

The monster list from Myths

If you want to make a fantasy race, just use

adjective + taxon + culture

The laziest way to make non-humans in RPGs.

Would it be wise to create a tumblr page/account?

Tumblr is a blogging website, so if you have the need of communication and presenting things personal to you, whether it's game development or something in meatspace, go for it.

Making Grinding Fun

Vendor Trash and similar items are also great for making grinding fun, as they widen the distance between rewards (since VT usually has no value until you go back and sell it), but also means you get bigger amounts of reward once you cash in. Getting 5000 Gold feels more rewarding than getting 50 Gold one hundred times, even if the same amount of effort was spent to get either.
