The site owner spouts white supremacist garbage and the mods react to my concerns by laughing at me. I'm not going to put up with a toxic community like this anymore.

Who's your favorite VRP(Videogame Romantic Pairing)?
How about talking about shipping on characters here on RMN?
To get started, here's a few names punched into Love Calculator:
Leon x Mortissiga: 87%
(Leon x Myra: 54%)
Bennet x Toxicoil: 98%
Eris x Project F7-4600M: 58%
Carmen x Anathema: 26%
The teams might actually like each other more than the ones they champion for.

What is the creepiest and most disturbing game you have ever played?
Personally, I think it's Eversion. Even though I'm not the type to be terrified by games (jumpscares are just startling at first and quickly lose tension), that would be it.
The Cost of Repetition
author=CashmereCatauthor=LockeZAchievements.
As for games getting harder when you die... yeah, it doesn't inherently seem to make a lot of sense if you're not charging quarters for each death in an arcade. But rewarding the player for doing better does make sense. It feels super great to the player. And it is the same exact thing, just worded differently. It is hard to reward the player for degrees of success without also making it so people who are good at the game are given easier challenges than people who are bad at the game. In fact, it might be impossible. Please share any possible solutions you have?

Some parts of Super Robot Wars have a thing called Battle Masteries - each mission in the game has a bonus objective that awards a mastery point if completed. The game's difficulty is scaled to how many mastery points you have, making the game easier if you fail to achieve them. However, getting enough awards you several powerful equip items.
What are some really funny RPG Maker games?
author=Cap_Hauthor=LightningLord2I don't see the point with this one. In my opinion the worst part is that advertisement. You're breaking the posse by this warning.
3. They get things wrong when making a reference to a certain game.
I suppose I should be more clear about it - when it's a minor detail that's incorrect or simply an exaggeration/overthinking of the idea, that's fine. Problematic is when something is clearly being referenced and the stuff happening has no base on what is being parodied.
tl;dr: If you want to parody a clichè, make sure it actually exists.
What are some really funny RPG Maker games?
I have to admit that I keep distance to games who advertise that they make fun of RPG tropes/clichés. In those games, one or more of the following things will happen:
1. The 'clichè' solely exists in 0-1 games out there, save for other parodies featuring it. Bonus points if it references a story event in Final Fantasy 7 (A game far, far away from generic RPGs).
2. Clichés featured in other RPG styles than JRPGs never make it in. I'd be interested if the game made a nod to d20 systems or first-person RPGs...
3. They get things wrong when making a reference to a certain game.
Bonus point: The protagonist is a teenage boy with spiky hair and a giant sword. I have yet to see such a character who isn't a Cloud Strife parody...

[RMVX ACE] Is there a way to temporarily alter stat values in battle ?
Alternately, there's the "Add Buff/Debuff" effects of skills - it lets you easily create effects for stackable stat changes and buff/debuff removal, but it's somewhat inflexible in execution (by default, you only go from -2 to +2: -2 equals 50% of base and +2 equals 150% of base)
[RMVX ACE] Is there a way to temporarily alter stat values in battle ?
Make a custom state for the buff. For the state, select a trait from the category Param Value for the desired buffable stats and raise them above 100. It's only possible to do relative buffs, though.

Amount of Magic in Fantasy
Keep in mind I didn't come up with this long statement myself - it's copypasted from a game review and doesn't necessarily reflect entirely what I think.
All I'm saying is that if one wants to include fantastic elements in a story, she can delve deeper into it and make it more commonplace than the average setting does. Keep in mind you can have the same effects with flashy weapons, scientific gizmos, psionic forces or powerful creatures fighting at your side.
Also, people seem to miss that I'm saying that everyone should get more access to all that - magic (shorthand for any fantastic element here) could be included into everyday life of NPCs, helpful aids for dungeon denizens, making kingdoms not defenseless against evil empires...
But yeah, there needs to be a reason why magic isn't commonplace if it exists.

^^^ This.
Long ago, I was working on a game called Elemental Clash where everyone had magic (each party member specialized in one of eight elements), but that didn't get rid of warriors at all. It just meant the warriors were lighting their blades with magic fire and using regeneration magic, etc.
I'm totally not opposed to warrior-like magic to bash faces in with - I can cite a few examples of this doing well.
