“It’s hard to believe you can do good work for the little amount of money these days. We did ‘The Graduate’ and that film still sustains. It had a wonderful script that they spent three years on, and an exceptional director with an exceptional cast and crew, but it was a small movie, four walls and actors, and yet it was 100 days of shooting.”

Dumb Notes:
-don't write your characters around the story:
i.e. character sees dragon on mountain.
-write the story around your characters:
i.e. character sees dragon, seeing dragon changes character.
-let emotion drive the scene. i.e. Will they make it out of this alive?
-let anger drive the action. i.e. "Are you crazy? I'm not picking that up!"

Rosary Of The Reaper: The Reaper's Warning
I really like the camera movement in this, as well as the horror movie "noise" filter - very well done.
Hope this gets featured on RMN TV.
EDIT: This is a really good preview.

Getting To The Next Level: Is Patreon a good idea to consider moving forward?
...I've been sort of hesitant to respond to this thread, since it sounds like you have everything under control here Feld, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in anyways. I agree with NTC3's sentiments. I think Patreon would be a worthwhile endeavour:
bleet, the creator of Huntress of the Hollow, and Fleshchild, started her own patreon awhile back, to help fund some of her rpgmaker projects.
She currently has 11 patrons and is currently generating 57.00 USD a month, which isn't a lot, I'll admit, but she is mostly pursuing this as a hobby though, while also juggling a part time job and attending school at the same time.
She also started a small discord channel with clockworkprince , in order to help dole out patreon awards, such as early access to her games, beta testing, art work and as a general way to keep in touch with her fans and help generate interest towards her games. She has also obtained a small following of 57 followers through this discord channel. (...it's actually a pretty cool discord channel with a very chill community)
I'd say, this is a moderate success for someone who is pursuing rpgmaker games, as a hobby.
I also think "Chronology Of The Last Era" has quite the following on RMN.
Pursuing Patreon, if done the right way, will be the same thing you're doing right now, here on RMN, except you'll be earning a small bit of money on the side that you'll be able to use to help spend towards improving this game of yours.
Like 57.00 USD dollars a month, may not be a lot, but it's something.
It wouldn't hurt to try this - as long as you remain realistic about your goals.
EDIT: Stick to knowing what you can actually get done and leave nothing to chance.

author=WIPauthor=DarkenI'll see what I can do.
What I'm really getting at is there isn't really a perfect platform for indevelopment RPGs yet but that might require some pioneering from someone's part. It's definitely a problem that should be solved.
Keep us posted. ❤
Tekken 7 (a.k.a And you thought YOUR family was messed up: The Finale)
author=Yellow MagicI loved this about the first game in the Soul Calibur series: "Soul Edge/Soul Blade"
My favourite thing is how when someone speaks their native language, literally everyone else understands, e.g. Heihachi has no trouble deciphering Italian.
I'm glad it sounds like they they brought this practice back - having dudes from all different walks of life speaking different languages,
makes it feel more authentic instead of just having two dudes, just talk in english or japanese.
This was really cool thing to see/hear in video games, even back then.
Old/Lost RpgMaker Games - SegNin's Rare/Obscure RM Games Request Topic
@kanatakkun - even though the description is vague, I'll keep track of it, just because I have an interest in finding old flash movies/games as well.(I really liked Fly Guy which the creator recently launched a kickstarter for it's sequel and The Crimson Room which the creator recently released on steam) but yeah, I can't guarantee I'll be able to find it, but I'll try.
@Kaliesto - I sent you a PM with a possible version of Lost Legends IV The Guardian of Light, lemme know if it works and if it is the game you're looking for.
Possible request:
I probably won't get a lot of answers for this one:
Does anyone remember FF6 Age of Rebirth?:

It was a ff6 fan game posted on gaming world around 2008, made in rpgmaker2000: there was a lot of hype surrounding it because it had a myspace page - I had the demo of this somewhere, but deleted it because I was short on space and honestly though it was gonna be around forever (big mistake). The one particular thing that did stand out about this demo though is that they had a fully complete world map of ff6 without mode 7 which was really cool.

YS 3: Wanderers of the Uncanny
author=kory_toombsIt would have, but that would kind of miss the point. I mostly took this on cause I wanted to figure out how to recreate parallax scrolling in rpgmaker2003. And Thanks to Kaempfer's Thread: https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/22895/
Ys 4 would have been easier.
and Zachary_Braun's wicked template on delayed overlay scrolling, I might actually continue this at some point.

A shout from Segnin aww. I had a ton of games but that was like over a decade ago now. See I did the same thing he was, uploadung all kinds of games, seeing people downloading & sometimes spending days to find one but not a single "Thanks Tau!" or anything.
That's why I tried to praise the shit out of Segnin haha.
(Edit: Late posting this)
Hahaha, I agree Tau ♥
I think, its very much a thankless job unfortunately. 10 years ago I honestly thought these sites, all these rpgmaker communities were gonna be around forever, but its only now, ten years after the fact that I'm realizing how wrong I was.
…Reading that last part of SegNin's message that Darken shared, for me, is especially chilling - just finding out that he had the same desire we all had towards archiving these rpgmaker games and seeing how he's now disappeared - just like the guy he once spoke about - I wouldn't say it's devastating, but, yeah. I really do hope that SegNin returns.

That looks nice. Where did you get those tiles? Or have you made them yourself?
I believe Kaempfer got those from the Kung Fu/Inheritance Chapter of SquareSoft's Japanese RPG "Live A Live" which Yoshihide Fujiwara was the character designer for.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_A_Live (info)
http://www.vgmaps.com/Atlas/SuperNES/LiveALive(J)-KungFuScenario.png (map)
I was gonna say, kudos, Kaempfer! I wish more people would use assets from Live-A-Live,
because they have pretty much every setting you'd want to capture in rpgmaker.
Like, I'm surprised more people haven't played this game, because it's pretty much the ideal game,
to make in rpgmaker - 8 short stories, done in entirely different time periods, each with a unique character and setting.
It's kind of crazy, we haven't seen more games like this, especially ones done in rpgmaker.
Can't wait to see more Kaempfer! ❤

Huntress of the Hollow +1 for Halloween (...and if she ever gets around to completing it: Flesh Child)
save OFF for an unusually slow month (November or December, or even the months of Summer) so that people can get a chance to check this game out, ideally someone who just bought a new computer, or has a lot of time on their hands, is going to browse RMN and see OFF and download it. (...if you want more people to become invested in rpgmaker and it's community, you bring them in with OFF)
This game is huge, hg101, wrote an article about and even did an interview with it's creators. it's arguably as big as Yume Nikki, Palette and Corpse Party, games have which put rpgmaker on the map and demonstrated it's competence at competing with commercial games. This one in particular is incredibly important as well, to the french rpgmaker community.
