I am seeking a script!

Okay, I think I am doing something wrong with this last script you posted, I am not seeing an animated background now.
Okay, I think I figured out 1 problem I am having.
It's not playing nicely with another script I have.
I need to be able to set up battle backs some other way than rather than a call script.
I have a script that sets the battle back based on the terrain tag the player is standing on, and that script it not working with your script.

Something is VERY wrong with the script thing that this message board uses.
I use it and it gives me a big mess of text.
For some reason... this is all I get.

Is there no way for the script to look at the name of the battle back set for the map and match it to a set of animations set within your script?

I am seeking a script!

I got 1 error so far.
 @bitmap_settings.each_with_index {|s,i| s.first.font.size = 90 ; s.first.draw_text(s.first.rect, "Bitmap #{i + 1}", 1)}]
It's at line 127 of the last script you sent, I have yet to try it with the new script.
When I am testing a battle back in a battle test, and I hit F12 to restart the battle, it would give an error going to that line of code.
Not sure about this last script you posted, I have to try it.

I am seeking a script!

Okay I tested it, works like a charm other than it shows the words Bitmap and then numbers cycling through in large letters on the screen.
But yes, that's exactly why I need.
Here is what I have for the script.
I can't seem to show what I have.. but it cycles through a total of 5 backgrounds.
Tech1
Tech2
Tech3
Tech2
Tech1
Tech4
Tech5
Tech4

And then back to 1
Each one at 5 rather than 10 though, but it's awesome I can set that.

I am seeking a script!

Yes, like this.
I have not tried using it yet.
But yes, each frame could be set a different wait time before changing.
Does this script work?
Or is it merely an example?

Ah, you want to cycle through images and have them wait before changing. This could end up being a bit laggy if the images are the size of the screen and there are a lot of them.

If you have any example images to work with, it would help a lot.
If that was the case, my parallaxes would lag my game, and they don't, neither does cycling through tile sets to animate tiles how i do.
But I do have an anti lag script in place.

What sort of example would you need?
I mean let's look at this image.

Notice the orange and green lights on the panels in the backdrop, all I would have to do is make a few more images just like this, but each one the lights could be a slightly different shade, as each image would cycle through, it would animate as if the lights were fading in and out in the background.
Like this video here.

Notice the VERY first battle, in the background my lights would flash like that.
There is no other real way to go about it.
A script that would cycle through battleback images is exactly what i need.

So, what you basically want is a script that allows you to set an animation from the database as a looping background in battle?
Something like that.

Maybe something where I set it within the script some how, telling the frames each one to go in a specific order based on a background, and just loop through the different images at a predetermined speed.
Like.

I have a background called Tech
It would look for Tech_1 then Tech_2 then Tech_3 and so on, looping back to Tech_1, and the speed could be something set within the script.

So each frame waits a predetermined amount of time before going to the next frame.
If I'm not making any sense, I can make a mock up of sorts explaining better.
If i could do this with events I would, I use events to animate through different tile-sets, and I do the same with parallaxes that animate.

But there seems to be no way i can do this for Battlebacks.
So I have to seek a script.
With events, I basically make a parallel process event, and it changes the parallax, waits for how ever much time, then goes to the next parallax, then waits.. and so on and so forth which creates an animated parallax.

Can't really do that with battle backgrounds sadly.

I am seeking a script!

I think it would be easier to animate a series of frames.
It's something I am used to doing with Victor Saints animated battle system when making enemies animate, a long image going from left to right.. well length depending on frames and sizes of each frame, told to go at varying speeds depending on the background. or some how setting it to what ever speed you need it to go between frames.
Like recently I made a background for a tech like area, blinking lights and so on.

I'm back to work!

Can't really report anyone here, as soon as you report someone for being a jerk, said jerk get's defending for their actions.
I'm just gonna leave it at that.
But thankyou!
I'm glad people are looking forward to it.

I'm back to work!

Wow, great job. I'm really liking how true this game is to the style of Phantasy Star IV. Are the face sets ones that you made yourself? I don't recall seeing them in PS 2,3, or 4.

I'm gonna be honest with you and everyone.
The face graphics are some that I just MODDED the HELL out of from some existing ones, lol.

I am sure SOMEONE, at one point or another, is going to point out where they're from and what I did to make them.
To which all i have to say is, get over it.. it matters not HOW I made things I'm making, but that I have, and I am putting some effort forth.
Some people on this forum act like they don't know what franken-spriting is sometimes, I swear.

And none of that is point at you man... but some other stuff I have posted before had some people pointing out that it's not made from scratch, and that all I did was .. bla bla bla
WHO CARES?!
What's the big deal?

Ofcourse it's not made from scratch, I don't have the time nor the patience to sit and make fresh sprites.
Last time I did spriting from scratch, it took 4 times as long to make something as it would to do some modding and franken-spriting.
I'm just one guy, ya know?
