Breath of Fire:Origins

@Dratio: I remember thinking that too, when I first played the game. I thought going back to Brandon would advance the plot. However, I found out that there's another party member somewhere in town that you talk to to advance the plot. I don't remember exactly where she is though, as I deleted the game after getting to the Dragon Colosseum.

Hopefully, this ambivalence about who to talk to, or at least reducing the town's size (it's a bit huge for how little is in it) will be altered when (or if) the next demo releases.

Send Me In Coach! Review Event

I had a review for Super RMN Brothers, but it was, in the end, denied on the grounds of lacking detail and a better degree of honesty regarding the content of the game.

I've modified the sections that I believed were the culprits of this denial, but do I have to delete the entry, then submit from scratch, or do I just need to edit the submission?

I'm such a noob...

DOING IT ~ WEEK THREE

Some ideas that have been floating around my head:

Chojiro
An odd fellow who tries his best to relate to the modern tastes of his students while teaching them the classics. He mostly successful, too.

Massaki
A meek fellow who lives constantly in the shadow of his outspoken sister. While his sister is prone to violent resolution of conflicts, Massaki is more prone to diplomacy.

Sataro
The Principal is seen as stern and not easy to get along with. Yet, much wisdom is hidden within him.

Mina
A young woman who is much wiser than her appearance suggests. She relays various tactics the players can use on enemies, and serves as respite from the chaos of the world.

Ichiro
A crazy old man that has been known to have "conversations" with inanimate objects. Never really sure of himself, he almost always uses "I guess", or like statements.

What the!? Did I seriously get that as the first game on my list?

I'm so doing this! I don't even care if I don't make the new deadline!

That's looking pretty sweet. Is this after you updated the screen shot?

Escape From Middle School

Let's take the first encounter with the bullies as an example. Ignoring the displaying of pictures, that event would look something like:
Display Text: Rob: 'Sup twerp. You a little late for class, aren't you?
Conditional Branch ({6th Grader} in party)
{
Display Text: \n{1}: Oh no! Bullies! Normally, I'd avoid these guys like the plague, but if they get in my way...!
}
Conditional Branch ({7th Grader} in party)
{
Display Text: \n{2}: Bullies, huh? I'd leave these guys alone, but since they're in my way, I might as well show 'em who's boss."
}
Conditional Branch ({8th Grader} in party)
{
Display Text: \n{3}: Ah, if it isn't the school bullies. I'd leave them alone, except that they are in my way. I'll show them who's the real power in this school!
}

The best part about this method, as you can see, is that you can reflect the difficulty setting that was chosen at the offset of the game while giving the player a mini-tutorial on how to deal with them. Kills two birds with one stone.

*Edit: Well the code wouldn't look exactly like that, but something like it, anyway.

Midsummer - RMN Community Project

For a bunch of seemingly random ideas, this game looks like it could go places. I mean two maps already?

What engine is this even on? It looks like it could be RPGM-2000, or RPGM-2003. If it's RPGM-2000, I could "sign up" as a play tester (if nothing else).

DOING IT! ~ WEEK ONE

An idea that's always been running in my head is a boss fight were the player is reluctant to do anything. Not in a "I have no chance of even touching this thing!" way, but in a "This is my significant other. How can I harm him/her?" kind of way.

The emotional connection between player and character is key. If done correctly, numbers almost don't matter. Indeed, they could be specifically low, so that the players almost have no choice but to commit murder if they do anything except "Guard" or use curative items.

I'll admit that my map-making skills suck, but my graphical savvy is even worse. I was only able to put that lettering on because of IDraw.

Trust me, if I was confident in myself to remove that lettering, and put in something more appropriate, I would!

Fallen Wings

If you totaled the downloads for this game, there have been 287 downloads.

Make that 288!

*Edit: My god, these maps are huge! And devoid of... stuff! Well, for your first game ever, it probably isn't too bad. Besides, who am I to complain when practically everyone is saying "Hey, improve your mapping skills" on my own submission?
