2023 Misao nomination monthly data

Hey kids, what time is it? No, it's not Howdy Doody Time. It's Misao update time! March saw all of 1 nomination the entire month. Which is the self-same from last year, and nowhere near to the year before that.

April was low both those years, though, so, let's see if that trend continues to this year.

Thanks for giving this game a try! Let me attempt to address some of the issues you're raising.

There should be some kind of confirmation at the schools front door.
First few days are missing this note for some reason.
(would you like to leave for the day?) Y/N

This is mostly because there arguably isn't a whole lot to do in the game during the early game, before the field trip. Also, since leaving for home becomes a propmpt later, it just didn't feel nessessary to do a prompt at the front door.

"Chat with Mayu", "Chat with Ruri", and "Chat with Kozue" never seem to change day to day before the field trip making interaction with classmates feel unimportant.

"Chat with Mayu", "Chat with Ruri", "Chat with Kozue", and "Talk to Shoko" Rarely seem to change day to day after the field trip as well.
(Why is Shoko "talk to" instead of "chat with"? Is it because she is mute?)

I do try to change topics every so often. After the field trip, I think the most a given topic stays around is, like, three maybe four in-game days? I also haven't revised Shoko yet, as I'm still not 100% what all I'm going to do with her.

The general idea with those "Chat with Mayu/Shoko/Izumi/Kozue" choice-boxes is that they build relationship values, and at certain thresholds, would cause cut-scenes to occur. Maybe allow some additional benefits, such as passive buffs? I may have an idea about how to manage passive buffs. On the other hand, I also kinda want to drop that idea.

Beyond all of that, I can't seem to find the trigger to progress the game and enter into the cave.

There should have been a cut-scene on Day 13 that points the player to Iwayama. You should be able to double-check what day it is by using the F9 debug menu. I'm pretty sure I enabled that feature outside of playtest mode. Either way, a boss would, then, appear on Day 14 at the entrance to the cave, and the game's calendar will not progress until he's defeated.

*Edit:
Magic seems to be able to crit? I Critically healed myself with "first aid".
and besides that, the "Chakra" tech seems a bit too strong.

I have zero qualms making magic deal critical damage, but, I can see where you're coming from in regards to healing. Like, it didn't feel powerful enough before, and now it might be a little too good. I'm not sure what the middle ground would even look like, given the mechanics of the game in regards to costs/requirements of skills.

Shouldn't this be in the Creative Corner?

Probably!

Let's work on your game descriptions!

There's a name I haven't seen in a while.

So, that description should either relay how the game plays, or at least an expected game loop. Other than that, I suppose what you do have could read a little something like...

A terrorist organization, known as Black Pepper, has infused a virus into the mother brain program! It's up to a no-name bounty hunter, and a band of government agents from Palm, to go to the Algol star system, to stop the spread of the virus, and the leakage of technology and information into the hacker's hands!

...this?

Okay, thanks for that. So, maybe more like...

It's been fifteen years since Dragonmaster Alex was active. His son, Jared, looks to follow in his father's footsteps, with the help of his sister, Selene, and best friend, Kevin. His first step in his quest is to overcome the White Dragon Trial. After completing that, their itinerary has them sail to Meribia, and from there, untold adventure awaits!

This game seeks to be a direct sequel to Lunar - The Silver Star Story, possibly forgoing the events of Lunar 2 - Eternal Blue in the process. Of course, you should still expect to see a few friendly faces from the series, as well as some new ones.

Hrm. I feel a lot of this is exposition of what's happening the first chapter of the game, and should likely be left up to the player to discover on their own. I'd probably would go with something more like...

...this. Though, I submit that I don't recall too much about Lunar's world to say with accuracy that the White Dragon Trial was actually in Meribia. I'm just going with that since the story seems to flow better with what you had written.

You might also want to mention how close to a legit Lunar experience you want to make, since this is clearly a fan-game. I might not recall much, but, I do know that it has this tactical grid system for combat, and it's own sense of humor.

[RMVX ACE] Characters are using moves that I DID NOT assign to them!

By default, the "Attack" command uses whatever happens to be in the first skill in the database. It's possible that you're using a script that changes this to accommodate for whatever that phoenix you're talking about is doing? I kinda doubt it, but, it's possible.

For what it's worth, I've a few games that remove "Attack" and "Guard" from the combat menu, and put those options (among others) onto equipment. I dunno if that is a mechanic you want to consider, though.

Welcome to RMN! Share your creativity with us!

I specialize in making music, for now. (can I post directly on this site?)

If it's music, or writing, it can probably go into the Creative Corner. Games have a submission process that I will not detail here, but, the general rules for such can be found here.
